Best Resort For Resort Only Stay?

Help please 🙂
Well, it depends on which theme you like best. My preference is any part of WL, CCV and BRV, or the Cabins at FW. I have done several 3-4 night resort only stays there. But I live in Florida. Someone who lives in Wyoming or Colorado might prefer a tropical theme to a log cabin theme.

Personally, for a resort only stay I prefer to be in a resort that is not adjacent to the parks. So no monorail resorts and no Epcot resorts. For DVC that would leave OKW, SSR, RIV, AKV, and the wilderness properties. But that is just my preference. You might want to be where you can see fireworks easily or not mind seeing parks from a distance.

I would look at resort amenities, nearby dining options, and theme when making your choice.

CCV/BRV are good and calm and have decent access to other resorts. But I tend to navigate towards SSR because I like the easy access to DS and they never feel crowded.

Absolutely agree. Access to 2 pools, some of the best dining options on property (our opinion, of course!), some unique activities, and the animals. Such a peaceful and interesting place for a resort only stay.
I've never stayed at AKV, but I am inclined to agree. The photos of the Kidani refurb are putting it high on my list for next trip. The pools are supposed to be amazing and great dining options!

If you can get in, I think BCV or BWV would also be great options for a resort only stay. Plenty to do in the Crescent Lake area!

I would choose either a Bungalow at Poly or a Cabin at CCV. No real need to go anywhere and enjoy the facilities, but I assume you don’t have 1,000+ points burning a hole in you account. AKV is an attraction into itself. SSR has Disney Springs right next door with tons to do.

Also a big fan of BCV!!

AKV is an attraction in and of itself.
I stayed there for one night, and most of the following day without going to the parks, and could have easily stayed longer. If you stay there, be sure to plan for one morning at Sanaa for breakfast.
I'm also a big fan of BCV, and although I've never stayed there for a "resort only" stay, I did spend a couple of days with an upset tummy, stayed at the resort full time during those days, and enjoyed it.

If I were doing resort only, then AKV would be high on my list, most likely Jambo House with Safari view.

Peaceful, large space, good restaurant options with Jiko, Sanaa, Boma and their lounges plus a good pool.

Agree with this for AKL. We did a 9 day trip there in May and it has the best food of any Disney resort. The pool is great too. There's so much to do.

If resort hopping is planned, I think any monorail or epcot (skyliner) resort would be great, each of these six resorts has easy access to at least two additional resorts. BLT may be best because only a short walk to a MK bus that goes to any resort. Of course you can uber, and may still need to for a late dinner, but likely only one way. While I love AKL and can't wait to check out the new rooms, it's lacking transportation unless you have a car, though parking may still be restricted at other resorts.

I think it really depends on time of year and also kids/no kids. When I was planning a resort only stay with my son. I landed on CFW or WL if couldn't get into CFW. There is a lot of stuff to do there (these things do all cost money so not a resort stay where you dont spend like at the parks) But I would not do CFW in the summer, all that outdoor stuff would be miserable in the heat.
