We are givng points to my wifes co-worker for a stay at the AKV in a studio. I wanted to know would they be allowed to use the laundry room during thier stay?

Yes, and be sure to remind them NOT to put money in the coin slots. The machines are free.

absolutely but i have to warn you that the washer/dryers are usually high in demand and a bit slower to work. only one time did i stay in a studio and it took one load about 1 1/2 hours to dry and there were a bunch of us waiting for the next loads to go in.

One time we used the laundry facilities I came back an hour later and someone had put our stuff in the dryer. Wasn't busy, so not like they need that dryer, but it was nice of them!
