Just me personally, I don't like any of the --en sounding names, Jaden, Hayden, Aiden, Cayden and all the different ways to spell them.
Just not my cup of tea for a boy or a girl.
This was my first reaction, too! Jayden fits in with the naming trend of using names that end with "en". There are so many Haydens, Cadens, and especially Aidens nowadays. I can't tell you how many Aidens I know! It seems if I meet any boy under the age of 4, I could guess their name is Aiden (or rhymes with Aiden) and I would probably be right most of the time! I work at a library, and we got Aidens in every storytime group. The name is everywhere! Aiden is the new Connor or Madison around here!
Aiden and any of the variations like Jaden, Hayden, etc are just too common around here IMHO. And I also know female Jadens as well. Well, to each his own!
My sister's friends named thier son Jaden (he is 9). The name fits him. Actually he is my niece's "boyfriend" - not really but that is what they have called each other since they were little - she said they "broke up" because they were too young!! Too funny. I don't care for the name for a girl though.
im not crazy about it either. my only grandchild, a grandson is jack matthew. my dd actually had jayden on her list. well one of her friends had her 3rd boy and named him jayden. so i was glad anyways........love my little jack......
