Hi Everyone !

Our trip is a little over a month away (18 days) and I have already started to sort out what I am taking. I set up a large table crack up some dis tunes have a drink and start the long but fun process. Like many have said on here I have clothes just for Disney US and SW. As long as colors match im happy specially our monster inc shirts everyone we meet loves them. Plus we always get picked at least once during the laugh floor show which is always so much fun. Then I always get new sneakers which work best for me along with new socks that breath etc. Finally there is all my led lights and gizmos I wear so much I look like a Christmas tree at night lol. I get so many compliments and surprised looks I just love it plus I give some away to the kids makes their night and mine. Most important I always weigh my suitcase a couple times make sure it all good (40lbs) before I get to the airport. I have heard their scales add at least 5 lbs so I don’t want to go over unload things and waste valuable time. Sorry for rambling on if you read it all I do appreciate it and gold star for you :wizard:

Have a Magical Day pixiedust:

Hi I usually don't - which unfortunately leads to me having to pull an "all nighter' the day before just to pack. In my defense I am packing for me and my two kids -my DH packs himself and is always done quickly- very annoying :p

This year I plan on starting at least a week before, staying up so late to pack always throws me off the first day of my trip.

Yep, I also weigh my luggage, but I use this one which has never failed me - using this I am able to pack knowing what my suitcase weighs to the ounce. I've never had a problem with a difference with an airport scale.

Local now, but before we moved here, we would make our lists about a month ahead of time, start packing 1-2 weeks before leaving. Then 2 days before we would unpack everything, double check against the list & repack. Same thing morning before leaving and again before bed. I now think Mom may have had some form of OCD, but when we go on vacation, I still do the same as she did.

I started my list about a month out, and then started packing about 10 days out. As I was doing laundry and came across items I wanted to take, I just packed them away. We were 100% packed a couple days ahead of time, except for the very last minute things.

I create a staging area in our extra bedroom about a month ahead. I buy things for the trip and they go in there, as well as any clothes we won't wear before the trip. We don't pack the bags until the night before.

I started list in excel months before my trip. April was my first trip so I didn't want to miss anything. What I did was, I put large laundry basket in my bedroom and as I purchased or thought of something I needed, I put it in the basket. Couple of days before the trip, I sort them out and packed. Night before I rechecked to make sure I have everything.

I love to pack! I may be weird though cause that doesn't end with vacationing. I love to move and pack stuff to move as well. Everyone else I know hates that.

Yes I will start packing at least a week or two in advance if not further out. The only reason I wait so long is because I wait on Dh to get the suitcases out of the attic which sometimes takes more nagging than it should!

We still have two months to go and I currently have a tote collecting everything I know will be packed to go that we won't need here in the meantime.

Heck im going in November and am already planning outfits for my girls! We'll probably pull out the suitcases 2-3 weeks prior to leaving.

I am going in advance of my family so we'll definitely be packing early this year. My DH is not the most thorough packer...he just throws stuff in a bag.

We are leaving in 33 days, and I've already packed up a bag with everyone's bathroom supplies. Soon we will start packing up clothing. Not everything mind you, but much of what my wife wears for Disney, she doesn't really wear at home, so we can pack a lot of her clothes up ahead of time. Some of my stuff can be packed ahead of time as well.

So, no, you are not alone!

Isn't packing part of the fun? I love to buy little things like matching hair bows and stuff, then I put them in my staging area. It's a whole thing, beginning months ahead of time. My DH packs the night before. It takes him 10 minutes, and he always has the stuff I inevitably forget. I will have the cutest matching socks for me and the the girls, but forget my toothbrush...and he always sighs patiently when I ask if he has an extra one, kisses me on the forehead and gets me the new toothbrush he packed "just in case".

We're about 70 days out, and I've already put most our shirts in a packing cube, and made our packing checklist :rotfl:

Just when you think you're the only one, this beautiful thread comes along. My family thinks I'm crazy. No matter! I've been making lists for weeks and I too have a "Disney" pile ready to go! Planning is so much fun and the end result is awesome!

I am late this year. 21 days out...no list, no staging area, no pile of travel items. I better get moving! LOL!

2-3 days in advance is when I pack.... mentally I pack months in advance ;)

I start a week before my trips. I start by setting up our empty suitcases in the guest bedroom and periodically put items in there. Then 2 days before our flights, I do a check with my checklist to make sure i have everything.

I usually start packing our suitcases a couple of days prior to the trip. Our home doesn't allow for much room, which is the main reason why the suitcases can't come down from storage too early. However, I do get things ready from a week or two prior to packing, just to make sure we don't forget anything.

OTOH, my sister's family starts packing about a month prior to any trip, including a short stay in Las Vegas. I always thought that was overkill ~ LOL!

This is how I do it too! Only it's our dining room table. I found some cute glow sticks that look like mickey ears this week. Grabbed them and added to pile.
