Glad I called! Okay, need to vent:)

My Mama Melrose ADR - turns out was for 50's Prime Time - Um, never booked 50's on that day or time. So no Mama Melrose for us now.

Next, My Whispering Canyon ADR - that was for April 4th. Well, seems they made it for April 9th - after I'm long gone from WDW and home. HOW did that happen???? So we have no WCC now for April 4th.

Then my CRT dinner ressie - for party of 7 - they have it for 8. So what, am I going to get charged for an extra person now? Never booked it for 8, did it for 7.

so out of 18 ADRs - 3 were screwed up. I wasn't going to bother to confirm them, figured eh, they'll all be fine. We leave tomorrow. So glad I checked them.

My last trip in NOvember - my Chef Mickey's ressie - somehow they booked me at Cape May Cafe instead. Huh? After that, spent a month calling daily trying to get an ADR for Chef Mickey's, and never had any luck.

And when they give me my confirmation number, I always make sure they are saying the correct date, time, party size and name of restaurant. So HOW did these three get messed up?

From what I understand, the new system gives the CM alternate choices if your restaurant isn't available. I had a CM almost book something for me, then he said "No, that's for xxxx instead of yyyy. YYYY is not available for that date/time." I was glad he caught it, but other CMs, still unfamiliar with the new system, may not be noticing that the system is offering to book an alternate choice.

Yes, I was trying to get Mama Melrose with Fantasmic. It was my second call in and I explained that is was unavailable at 90+10 so I was trying exactly 90 to see if I could get one. The CM was so excited to get it (and so was I) - she hadn't been able to get one in quite a while - that we didn't notice until we were doing the confirmation at the end that it was H&V instead. The system had subbed any F! package. Took it anyway, but we'd have been at the wrong place if I hadn't caught it. Almost didn't either, I was so happy just to have one. I think I'll be doing confirmations as well, closer to our departure.

this just sounds soooo great :rolleyes1

it makes me all warm and fuzzy waiting for my own ADR window to open :lmao:

now what would have happened if you would never confirmed? WOuld they turn you away at the podium even though the cm or the system messed us your ADR?

Most likely, yes. They would turn you away. If they have a last minute cancellation, they might offer you that. If not, they may be *generous* and offer you the option of waiting and seeing. Absolutely no guaranteed table though. It really is incumbent on the traveler to double/triple/quadruple check all reservations for any type of travel. What I do is call back a different day and give the CM my ressie numbers and ask them to verify each one. They read me the date, time, restaurant and party size. And every time I make a change, I do it all again. And again. And again. Yes, I really have changed my ADRs at least three times for my next trip. :rotfl:

Dining has screwed up a few times for us. Last year, I had an April and June trip and they made my June reservations for April. Found out when I got to the resort and had to scramble to get any good ADRs. When we were down over New Year's they had the Flying Fish reservation for the wrong day. Luckily I was at BW and could go to the restaurant. They were able to squeeze us in. Now I will confirm on the call and check later just to make sure.

Yes, they told me earlier this week, that alternate locations pop up often. CM said it can be distracting, because many guests are not so much looking for a 6pm dinner on a certain date, as they are looking for ANY time, or even date at a certain location. The new system she said, makes it harder to look for say, Chef Mickeys on June 15 dinner, but easier to find June 15 dinner at a MK location..... Now they need to put in one hour at a time. When they DO, alternate locations pop up if it is booked. They need to put in another time period to check again.

I hope this makes some sence, it is just what the CM told me as we waited for the computer to come up over and over.....

This happened to me too! I called and changed my CM breakfast ADR to Dinner. I was within 90 days so the available time was late 8:00 so I kept calling and asking for an earlier time. Well, one day I called and was told I could have an ADR at 6:30 Yeah! book me for that and cancel the 8:00. I called back again to change something else (LTT doesn't have a kids menu in the evening - okay that won't work:rolleyes1) So I confirmed all my ADRS at that call. Lo and behold no CM for me! They'd booked WCC:scared1: Luckily I could still get a CM ADR but now it's at 8:20:headache:. I've pretty much given up on getting new ADRs but I have some I need to transfer/cancel and I'll call back and reconfirm them all again after that. I'll be so mad if anything else has been booked wrong.:scared:

I had an issue I called and confimed and they told me the right date for my CM and when I got there on Sunday morning they told me that it was for Saturday. They sat me anyway, and said they knew it was problem with their system.

Ugh:scared1:, sorry that happened. I hate hearing this. I confirmed all my ADRs a few weeks ago and everything was in order. I'll have the concierge print them out when we get there, but gosh, if something gets messed up between now and when I get them printed I might just be inclined to show up at the restaurant with my confirm number in hand and see what happens. I already have the two "biggies" (CRT and CM) in writing because they printed out with our December reservations when we had the concierge print them out for that trip.

Okay I have a question I have a Chef Mickeys for 12:00 for the last seating for breakfast for my son's BIG bday. I only booked it for 6 at the time because that was all we had, now we have 10 people and everything is booked. I made a back up at Ohanas and have to make a decision soon we only have 2 more weeks! What should I do, just show up early and expect to wait to see if I can get an extra table added?? I also have a Birthday cake ordered so I have to know where to have it sent. Help, what should I do!!!!

I'm not sure I'd take that risk. I know people have sometimes had luck going from 3 to 4 or 5 to 6 at the podium, but going from 6 to 10 might be tough. And since you have cake ordered that could be a mess if they can't seat your new party size. Could you make a second ADR for a party of 4 so that at least you'll know everyone can be seated (and hopefully they could put the two tables together)? If not, I think I'd go with the Ohana ressie. Good luck!:goodvibes
