I'm so annoyed right now. I placed an order on 9/8 for 4 movies (two were pre-orders). I was planning to take two of them on my trip next week. I sent an email on Tuesday stating that I hadn't received them yet. I finally got an email back today saying they couldn't resolve my issue by email and I should call.

So, I called. Apparently my credit card info wasn't updated so my order wasn't processed, even though on-line it has been processing for two weeks. When I asked why I wasn't informed that the info needed updating, she said they would make 6 attempts to charge the card before contacting me, and so far they only made 3 attempts:sick:. So I said "so you're saying since its been three attempts in 2.5 weeks, I wouldn't have heard from you for probably another 2.5 weeks?" She just said "yes, that's correct".

I told her about my trip next week and how I hoped to have them to take, and she said it would take 3 days for my credit card info to update, and another 7-10 days to ship them out.

I told her to cancel my orders and my membership, as this is poor customer service. She just said "ok", then tried to upsell me on some other membership:crazy2: Didn't even try to keep me as a customer.

Disappointing!

I still have a membership, but they are terrible about communication when it comes to billing issues. We changed banks a while back when BoA changed their free checking rules, which meant the card associated with my DMC account was no longer valid. It took them a full month to let me know there was a problem processing my payment then a week to ship after I updated my info. Fortunately I didn't want that particular movie for any occasion so the delay was a minor inconvenience. Why they don't contact the buyer after the first or second decline, I don't know. When I had a similar issue with a Barnes & Noble order that went to my default card (the same cancelled card) they contacted me within about 4hrs of when I placed the order, I supplied a new payment method, and my book shipped the next day.

I also never pre-order from DMR because it takes over a week after the release date for the movie to actually arrive. I made that mistake with Frozen and won't make it again - between the processing and shipping time it is just too long for kids who are seeing the "now available on blu-ray" commercial on a daily basis to wait for their copy to arrive.

I pre-ordered Frozen as well and actually received it 3 days before it was released in stores. They did however only send 1 copy whereas I had ordered 2. After calling they shipped it out priority mail. Didn't have any issues at all with customer service.

Wow, I got mine a full 8 days after the release and when I called I was told they "cannot" ship before the release date. I know the slow shipping is partly my location - B&N "express" (1-3 business day) shipping routinely takes 4 or 5 working days to get to me too. I'd have been fine with it coming Wed, Thurs, or Fri of the week it released because we usually don't do movie nights on weekdays anyway. But I really didn't expect that it wouldn't ship until the release date or that I'd get such an abrupt/bordering on snippy response when I called about it.

Some companies will email a reminder if credit card is about to expire. Not all do. I wonder if there is a disclaimer stating you are responsible for making sure that you have provided a valid form of payment.

I got mine before release as well. I also got Tarzan & Hercules 3 weeks before their official release date.

What is the number to call to cancel? I have been meaning to cancel mine since I never seem to remember to decline the movies I don't want and I have already reached my commitment. However, they seem to hide their number really well and I can't find it on the website.

Thanks everyone for the commiseration ;)

I've had this happen with Barnes and noble and amazon, and they notified me immediately if there was an issue withe the card. This was just baffling, especially since it's disney and I have grown to expect better from them.

The number I called is
1-800-362-4587
