Had a wonderful time at the parks, and some what of a good time tent camping. I would advice anyone who wants to tent camp in July or August, that you are a seasoned camper who likes the heat, the only word I can say is that is was steamy. We also had a problem with people in the 1500 cotton tail curl that decided to bring a skate board and it was past midnight and that kid was riding around the cirlce, another family decided to bring spot lights to put on their camp, so our tent was lit up at night while sleeping, they did turn it off late into night. We could not go back to the camp to rest because it was way to hot and I am from the south so heat does not bother me that much, but there was not one wisp of wind to cool you off because the trees are very thick. Fort Widerness was beautiful and would have liked it better in a camper. We had great fun at the pool, sing a longs and movies. We bought hot dogs, buns, and marshmallows at the post and roasted them at the fire pit at the movies, my grandson thought this was great and he met chip and dale. The boat ride over to the MK was very pretty and the fireworks on the beach and parade in the water were wonderful. Over all we had a wonderful time but thought better of tent camping and will most likely invest in a small popup with A/C.

Glad you had a wonderful time. I can relate about the skateboard....ours was a basketball...arg! 7:00 a.m. in the morning some kid decided to dribble around the loop a few times. It was torture! But like you, overall we have great times at the fort. :thumbsup2

It rained everyday we were there and our tents stayed dry except one day when my daughter pushed her blow up bed too close to the tent and her pillow was wet, but over all just messy. They use shell and sand and it gets wet and sticks to your feet. We kept shower sandals right next to the door of the tent. Also we sprayed our tents with tent sealer before we left, it takes 24 hours to dry and seemed to work because we had three tents of all sizes and brands set up and none of them got wet. Sorry I forgot about bus transportation. We used the boat to get to the Magic Kingdom. It takes longer but our grandson wanted to ride on the monorail to Epcot so we took the boat to MK and then monorail to the tranportation center and then hopped on another monorail to get to Epcot, but it was worth the ride because he loved it. For the other days we used the bus system in the camp, was very easy and never waited but a few minutes for each bus. You have to take a bus around the camp to the front and then hop on one to what ever park you want. But even with the crowds we always had a seat on the bus. Valirie

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I can't wait to return and share mine too. Never camped in WDW before!:thumbsup2

You must have been there just after us. Glad you had a good trip!

I remember tent camping in early June it was so hot that we ended up laying in the kiddie pool at about 2 am in the morning just to cool off! Funny you mention the tent and next time you will be in a pop up because that is what we have done and know we are in a Fifth Wheel!
