Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. I don't really know much about timeshare's but I just bought a floating red week 1-52 timeshare at Cypress Pointe. A friend od mine has a timeshare there and said it was great. I took her word for it and bought a resale 2 bedroom/2 bath for $2,800. It is in Cypress Pointe, not Grande Villas. Does anyone know if this was a good deal. I can go any week of the year (holiday's too). Is Cypress Pointe close to Magic Kingdom? Thank you in advance to all who respond.

Its a really nice place and close to Disney. They have a website www.cypresspointe.net and you can join the yahoo group where the Homeowners Assoc updates owners about anything that happens and you can post too with questions etc.

I think its a pretty good price for a 2 bedroom there. I didnt know they sold them smaller then 3 bedrooms. We have our 3 bedroom Diamond week listed for sale for $4500 so for a 2 bedroom that sounds about right

Diane v, if you don't mind me asking, why are you selling your timeshare at cypress pointe? do you think I should have bought a Disney Timeshare instead? Disney timeshares were so expensive. Also, when is Diamond week? Is that different then Red week? I am new to timesharing. Thanks so much for your response.

jakezmom,

An excellent website for you would be www.tug2.net . It is to timeshares what the disboards are to all things Disney.

I own a couple of Orlando weeks and enjoy using them. Unfortunately, Florida maintenance fees tend to be a bit higher than in some other areas. Also, the area has an awful lot of timeshares, which decreases some of the value of the weeks.

If you bought the week to use most of the time, or can reserve prime weeks to exchange, it will probably serve you well.

Thats about it. The maint. fees. I understand they need to go up to pay for things such as what needs/needed to be done at Cypress Pte for it to get back to Gold Crown status which is great. But we just cant afford almost $700 a year in fees which is what the 3 bedrooms are nearing. We only bought it less then a year ago too but didnt think about that!

Its a really nice place and I think you will be happy. Diamond week is the weeks that are holidays and summer. Emerald is the other weeks

define go join tug.

they will help you make the most of your timeshares.

the competition in Orlando is so fiercy that all the timeshares, if they wish to remain in either RCI or II, must do their maintence work. They can't allow anything to slip.

so the maintence fees will be higher.

plus there is www.skyauction.com - if you can rent a week for less money than the maintence fees - why buy?
