I agree. Looks to me like they are basically just saying any resort less than 7 months out is $13/point. For 7-11 months out, they're paying $18/point for VDH. No open RIV requests for 7-11 months out, so not sure how much they're paying there. $18/point feels reasonable for the 7-11 month booking (that's what dvcrequest.com would pay). $13/point, unless we're talking about reservations less than 60 days out, seems like an insult to me. There is only so much premium I'd be willing to pay to go through a broker vs. the rental section of these boards or Facebook to rent out my points.

And, although I appreciate the fact that they will let you list confirmed reservations for up to $20/point, hard to say that doesn't contribute to the problem of people picking up hard to get reservations solely for the purpose of renting them out.

Thank you everyone for this info!! Neither of those resorts were ones I submitted for. This is why I had asked about if Davids or another broker (I only know David’s and dvc rental) was a better choice esp for harder to get stuff. The march one is no big deal but the next trip I’m planning will be a hard to get room and I don’t want a repeat of this! And David’s does cost more for what I want so they must be paying owners more for it! I’ll try them and report back

If you do go with David's make sure you check which credit card you use.

You'll want to use one that has no foreign transaction fees otherwise you will end up spending another 3%

For non-confirmed reservations where a renter submits a request and then a DVC owner claims it, if it is for something 7 months out or less, they are only paying $13/point to owners, regardless of resort.

I'd like* some of what they are smoking.

Honestly, at $13, you are probably better off using the DVC Beyond Magic trade in to get an annual pass.

Very true. And, you also won’t get a 1099 and tax reporting obligation with a trade in, although on $13/point, you’re not going to have much income to report after expenses.

Yes it has went down. Less than a year ago they paid $3-6 more pp for VDH and VGC.

I know when I rented from them for my stay last month, their list rates were a good deal lower than dvcrequest.com, and that was why, as a renter, I went with them. Of course, my rental requests were also made around 60 days from check-in, and I could imagine there might be some owners with points they're about to lose willing to rent for a reduced rate at that point.

But, still, if they're willing to let you list confirmed reservations at $20/point, it almost seems like they're pushing you towards that. And, on their FB page, you constantly see these confirmed reservation posts along the lines of "Wow, X nights at ABC resort, Disney's price is this, and ours is so much lower! Hurry up before it's gone!" Maybe confirmed reservations are easier for them to move?

Still, dvcrequest.com appears to be willing to pay $16/point for any bookings made within the 7 month window (and $18 in the 7-11 month window for most resorts), so if you're the DVC owner and want to rent through a broker, that seems like the better option.

When I submitted a March 2026 request for VDH through them, it was secured rather quickly after deposit made. That was about a month ago, so for me that was right before it opened up for the 7th month mark. Not sure if that made a difference.

Hi everyone

I recently submitted my request w dvc rental store and they got back quickly saying they had availability. They said the deposit would be $380 and 75 days out the remainder is due

I was so excited and paid the $380 immediately. Then they emailed saying thank you for your deposit, we are working on finding you a match? I’m very confused. I thought it was set in stone. It’s been days and they haven’t responded and now I have no idea what’s going on

I will be trying again for a separate trip in about a month but it’s for a hard to get room, is David’s a quicker option? Since dvc rental store seems very slow and not great with responding?

The next one I’m trying to get is harder so I want the best shot!

That is odd that you had to pay for a full night and they did not actually have an owner to make the reservation. Normally you put down a $100 deposit and once an owner picks up the request, then you pay the remainder of the one night deposit. After they receive that, they send you the confirmation number. Unless they recently changed their policy. Hope it works out for you!

Why would anyone take that, you could get more just by transferring your points to another member. It’s more hassle to rent than transferring your points.

I think that’s why no one is claiming my request. I booked direct w Disney and if it comes through than great but I’m not counting on it

I can see all of the March reservation requests. I see several RIV and VDH requests. I'm guessing one of those is yours since those are both restricted resorts. I can't believe they're only willing to pay DVC owners $13/point for those reservations. I think you'll be hard pressed to get any DVC owner to fill those anytime soon. I'd go elsewhere.
