Just bought stroller for my 6 YO!!

I picked up a $20 Kolcraft umbrella type for last trip late April. My DS-3 (almost 4) can run outside all day but as soon as we are walking from one point to another he starts to whine. I think my DH spoiled him because he always rides on his shoulders. However my DH didn't go this time. I have a hard time getting him up on my shoulders. He's about 43lbs. I did the big debate whether to bring one or to rent one. Even though he was over the 40lbs weight limited for the Kolcraft the worst that could happen would be it would break and I would end up renting one. Well it worked out great. Also, I was so glad I had it in the airport. When we were going through security at the gate they directed us to a shorter line which I think they were just using for strollers and wheelchairs. Also keep in mind if you do decide to bring one, the bigger bulkier one's may be more comfortable but I saw others struggling with then on the trams, trains, buses etc.

our last trip to the world dd 7 ,ds 4.5, and ds 2 we brought our stroller with us for the little guy and end up renting a stroller for the big ones.this time the kids will be 9,6 and 3 and i know that the little one still needs a stroller and if we let them the two big ones will try as well.....I need a name of a cheap umbrella stroller that will hold a big toddler..(i have a whole garage full of strollers from lightweight to joggers but none will do....

I was at WDW last week and debated bringing a stoller for my 5 year old. Based on what I read on these boards I decided to dig up the old umbrella stroller from the basement just in case.

I turned out to be a great idea. The weather was hot and humid and he started to fade pretty quickly. He was a trooper but started to walk slowly. After that we used the stoller the entire time. We covered a lot more ground by pushing him at our pace rather than going a his much slower pace. It also prevented any meltdown.

He has not used a stroller at all for several years, but was referring to the stroller at WDW as his chariot by the end of the week. Stroller parking is easy and convenient to all rides and was never a problem.

I would highly recommend either taking one or renting one if you have any doubts about your child's ability to keep up without burning out. Being the umbrella kind, it was easy to fold onto any transporation.

We've always taken strollers--last trip DD6 and DS3. In three weeks we will be taking all 3 kids(I won't take them till they are 3 --Idon't do diapers in Disney!!)) Un fortunatley now we are outnumbered by kids so my DD8 will not get a strollerand boy is sheUPSET!!!

Last week she and I started walking at night to get her used to and I must say we are actually really enjoying the time together!!
I'm sure DS5 and DD3 will give her a break once in a while when we're there but strollers are key if you can manage it for any kid that can fit in it!!

Take your 6 yr old with the stroller and ENJOY yourselves!!!
