Super excited, just booked our first holiday in DisneyWorld. It's 11 months away, but the planning wheels are already in motion. Only staying for 5 days, but it should be so great. Going with my dh, dd(9), ds(7), newborn in May, and my fil & mil. We are staying at a 2bdrm in AKV Kidani. Looking for suggestions for a nice family dinner on Thanksgiving. All suggestions are sooo welcome. Can't wait to see the Christmas decorations!!!!

Just double checking, but the Christmas decorations are ususally up by Thanksgiving week arent't they. The Osborn Family lights at DHS, really persuaded us to go at this time.

Yes, they should be up then. I would pick WCC, love the food, love the decor and Christmas decorations. Plus they have the fun antics for the kids. There is a very nice quiet bar off the lobby if you get there early and the adults want a cold beverage while waiting on the table. You can then take the boat or bus anywhere. We usually make reservations at 5 p.m. I would think it would also be easier having the food brought to you than taking the children through a buffet line.

LTT also has the right Thanksgiving colonial vibe and the food is decent, not terrific.

We had Thanksgiving dinner with the grandparents at Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. It was a nice meal. They served Thanksgiving type food along with their regular stuff.

We also just booked Thanksgiving! We're doing a split stay... THV for 3 days and VWL for 4 days.

Either way, a character meal or ts meal would be fine. Looking forward to it!

One year we had Thanksgiving dinner at Artist's Point at the Wilderness Lodge. They offered a traditional meal in addition to their regular menu. I had the salmon, which I always have there, but DW had the turkey. Both were outstanding and the setting is fantastic! I'd recommend eating earlier in the day so that you can see the beautiful forest and lake outside the windows.

We have done a Thanksgiving trip for the past 5 years. We stayed at Kidani this year, and decided to try Thanksgiving Dinner at Boma! It was wonderful! We took a shuttle to Jambo house (very fast). The buffet had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet mashed potatoes, stuffing, and gravy as well as all the usual Boma food and meats. It was great! We took the walking path back to Kidani after dinner since we were so full. It took about 10 minutes (we were walking very slowly). We all decided this would be our new tradition when staying at Kidani.

I think that a buffet can sometimes be easier with kids because they can find something they like and yours are old enough to go up on their own. I really like the food at Crystal Palace and Garden Grill. The buffet at Boma sounds great. I know the parks are really crowded then so it might be nice to be at a resort to escape some of the crowds.
