I just decided to book a last minute 4th of July sure-to-be-wicked-hot-and-crowded-weekend trip yesterday. Surprisingly rooms were still available at Shades of Green (SOG) and we were able to snag 2. I've never been in July with kids and we'll have 3 in our party. My DD4, and nephews 4 and 9 are going. My mom, sister and I will be the adults for a total of 6 people.

This trip philosophy is "relax this is for fun, we don't have to do everything". But you know us planners, can't just leave it at that.

We'll be traveling on Saturday and will probably just "pool it" at SOG when we get there. We might go to Universal as DSis has freebies since her BIL works there. I've already made ADRs at Park Fare for that evening.

This was a last minute trip and we're going again in January and then again next summer for longer trips.

Any suggestions for parks for Sunday, July 2 and Monday, July 3? We're most interested in MK, then AK and MGM in that order. Don't have to do all 3, but definitely want to do 2. We did Epcot a good bit the last time we were there, so it's not a (Gasp) absolute necessity given our short, short trip.

FYI...I panicked and called to make some ADRs but we will change them if need be for best park strategy. Other than Park Fare, they are LTT at MK Monday evening at 6PM, Le Cellier at 5:00 Tuesday (I know, we probably won't be going to Epcot, but I couldn't resist--most likely will have to cancel :guilty: ) and Ohana's on Tuesday the 4th for Breakfast. We're just interested in 1 TS a day, we'll do CS for other meals. We're not on the dining plan given the SOG stay.

Any 4th of July experts out there with suggestions for park strategy for Sunday and Monday with 2-4 year olds and a 9 year old???

P.S. Everyone has been to Disney.

I would do MK and AK....it has more offerings for the little ones. Congrats on your trip..have fun...I will be there in January as well. YAY!!!!!!!!

I think that the MK will do the special fireworks for July 4th also on July 3. If you want to see the Wishes fireworks, then you will need to be at the MK on Sunday, July 2. I heard that the MK is wall to wall people on July 4th so that might be a good day for the AK. Also the water parks are a good choice in the hot weather - they both have special areas for young kids.

We'll be there then too! :wave2:
THis will be pertinent if SOG does EMH...I don't know. :confused3
July 2nd: Morning EMH at Epcot, evening EMH at MK (3 am night) I would do MK, then you could see Wishes, unless you want to see the 4th of July fireworks on the 3rd...They do them both nights.
July 3rd: Morning EMH at MK (open to 1 am), Evening EMH AK

We will be in Epcot on the 2nd and MGM on the 3rd...If I were you I would do MK on the 2nd and AK on the 3rd. :teeth:

SOG is eligible for all 'on property' perks.. including EMH, free parking at the parks, and transportation.

NOTE: parking is NOT free at SOG anymore (used to be). $5/day now I think it is.
