Rate is for standard view room for August 21-22nd. Orig had 2 concierge rooms booked at$239 (APH rate) but just could not justify price difference. Hope that helps someone

where and what site did you get that rate? We are staying aug 8th and I think our rate was $279 for the night

That is the annual pass rate. You can purchase an annual pass for $229. You can check annual pass rates by entering APH as the code when you check rates online at www.loewshotels.com

Can you book an APH rate before you buy the annual pass - is it ok as long as you have the pass when you check into the resort?:confused3:thumbsup2

And can you book more than one room - as in for friends - using your annual pass?

You can book before you have the pass. You can't book rooms for people without the pass. You would have to be paying for it.

Thanks Damo:thumbsup2

I would be paying for the second room as a treat for our friends who could't really afford it otherwise - does that mean its ok then?:thumbsup2

The recent rule seems to be that you can book two rooms with one AP. Make sure you ask when you book. I don't anticipate a problem though.

Please help me out. I'm just doing research for our trip in 3 weeks. I've already booked Royal Pacific for $219 AAA rate for 2 nights. If I put in the APH code mentioned here it's $139. Savings $80 x 2 = $160. Annual pass =$229?

Does only one member of our family need to have the annual pass to get this?
I'm so used to Disney prices that this is amazing me and I want to make sure it's true. Thanks.

Only one person needs the AP. The preferred AP does cost $229. Yes...sometimes the AP deals are considerable!!!

Don't forget the annual pass cost may be $229 but how much was the ticket you were going to buy to get in the parks? You can subtract that from the AP cost and see a savings still. LOL did that make any sense? It did in my head :lmao:

I was going to pay $146.95 for a 3-day park to park ticket.
$229 - $146.95 = $82.05 more for ticket / -$160 less for hotel sounds pretty good to me!

And don't forget the discounts on merchandise and food! :) We have MORE than made up the cost of our AP with hotel savings and merchandise savings (we are big shoppers :)). Plus with an AP we find ourselves going just to do one thing or even though there's only 2 hours left in the day because we can and it's not "costing" us a day of tickets!

We're too far away so this will likely be our only trip to Universal this year but it seems the saving will be worth it. I can't wait to tell my 3 tweenage DSs that *I* have an annual pass to Universal, though.

Another good point...renewals are $159

What :yay: You mean I can change my $175 rate to $139 per night for our upcoming 4 night trip (savings of $144)? And all I have to do is buy an APH for $245 vs. a 4 day park-to-park for $151 (increase with tax included of just $94).

That'll net me $50 right away plus the additional discounts on food and merchandise. Ah, I love the DIS!

Thanks for starting this thread maryisme. :woohoo:

Just another tip...sign up for email promotions via the official site. We have received 3 pin codes this year. We are using one for the second time. Just booked RPR club level king for $191 with the 40% pin code. Used the code on our last trip and got PBH club king for $263. Just an FYI.

Aren't there a limited number of rooms at any given time with the AP rate? Don't know b/c I don't have one, but I think I've read that there...or maybe that only applies to WDW.

Is there a place to look that gives the best description of what other discounts/perks you get with the AP other than the room discount?
Thanks!
