Actually, I am having the hardest time figuring out where to make the ADR's and if we need to upgrade to Deluxe ... There are a lot of 2 TS/Signature Meals that I would like to try out, but I don't want to spend a majority of the trip in the restaurants.
Also, what is everyone's opinion about MNSSHP - again, it's our very first trip and I don't want to over do it.
we too just booked our first trip to disney. But 1 thing, I just dont get, why all the excitement about where you going to eat??? sorry.....
I thought the parks were for the rides and shows....

I used to think that too! But live and learn and then make more ADR's.
I really think that your first trip is mostly about the rides and shows, at least it was for us. Then, as you add more trips, you look for new things to experience ...hence the meals become a highlight. That isn't to say that the shows or rides are diminished the more you go to WDW, we still LOVE the rides and shows, but, well, the fun meals just enhance the vacation experience (especially if the dining is FREE!). It's always fun to have food you may not have at home ... and as I always say, ANY meal on vacation is fabulous, as long as I don't have to cook!
To all of you first-timers ... have a WONDERFUL time!! There is certainly something special about that first Disney vacation experience ... even MORE magical! and memorable!

To us, half the fun is trying out and experiencing new foods. I am most looking forward to Epcot and 'touring' around the world. Also, when Disney is footing the food bill, it's nice to know I don't have to look at the prices - especially since I am a steak lover.
Have fun planning your first trip! We have been to WDW several times, but experienced the DDP for the first time last September when it was free. It was very nice to have all our meals taken care of and not having to worry about paying for them.
