We just booked a long weekend to Disney for the beginning of Feb. - Yippie- now what???

I'm so used to planning for my young kids I don't know how to plan for just adults.:confused3

We will only get two full days and a half day in. I was thinking of doing the Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour as it seems interesting and is only $30 compared to the Keys to the Kingdom Tour which is $79. What else should we do??? We are annual pass-holders if that helps.

I'm already a little nervous b/c we really like the Epcot resorts but I just got a great deal at BLT and we have never stayed at a monorail resort before so I felt the need to book it instead. I was going to book Yacht club b/c we enjoy the easy access to Epcot so I am super worried BLT will be a downer- what do you guys think?

First off - BLT is not a downer; you will love it.

You should plan on drinking around the world. Drink every place that you can. Eat lots of big meals. Eat at V&A. TotW Lounge at BLT is awesome; you should spend the whole trip there.

I would make a ADR somewhere nice and romantic. You can actually stroll around World Showcase and get to sample some nice drinks as well.

BLT will be great. Plan an evening for you and your husband to have a nice dinner and then head to the beach of your resort and watch the Electric Water Pageant. Think about what are your and your husband's favorite rides and attractions and what you do just because the kids like it. Think of what restaurant you always wanted to try but didn't because you had kids with you. These will give you some good ideas on where to start in planning a kids-free trip.

Thanks for the advise! Do you have to be DVC members to use the TotW Lounge at BLT? We aren't- would love to be but can't plan my vacations that far out- lol.

I completely forgot about the Water Light Show- we have yet to see that so that will be nice.

Where are good places to just sit and have a few mixed drinks? I would assume it is Epcot but are there any exact locations? Thanks!

Yes, you have to be DVC members to go to the TotW lounge.

If I were doing an adults-only trip, I'd book an ADR at Artist Point, ride Splash Mountain 75 times in a row, and drink around the world.

Keys to the Kingdom is a fantastic tour! Also, if you like live music, go sit in the lobby at the Grand Floridian in the evenings and listen to the band … so relaxing!

YAY for you!! My hubby and I went last February for our 25th wedding anniversary for the first time as ADULT ONLY! It was so wonderful, we're going back this February! The first week. And we're staying (just like we did last year) at the Boardwalk Inn. We absolutely love being within walking distance to Epcot.

So, I don't really have much advice. All I can tell you is last year was truly the best vacation ever. Now granted, my kids are 23 and (just turned!) 25 - so it's been a really long time since we had a private vacation. i didn't do nearly as much advance planning with this trip as our past visits to WDW. It didn't seem necessary. And it really wasn't. This year I'm actually calmer and more relaxed, knowing how wonderful last year was.

Enjoy the time alone and together. We certainly will!!!

Yeah for you!!

My husband and I are also going in February as our first trip with no kids.

Some of the things I've planned for us are a nighttime carriage ride at port Orleans resort, dinner at some of the nicer restaurants, and we even splurged for the Behind the Magic Tour.

I'm thinking we might try and book the wishes dessert party as well.

Those are things we've always wanted to do but haven't because of having small kids with us.

Best part of WDW without kid's was making no hard set plans. Just do what we felt like when we felt like it. I did load FP's and sometimes we made them, sometimes we didn't. We ate off of a menu in the lodges instead of set ADR's.
Have a great time.

My DH and I did an adults only trip for our 20th wedding anniversary at BLT. We had the best time. We loved walking over to MK, and just having to use the Monorail to get to Epcot, which was great since we were there for the Food and Wine Festival. Admittedly BLT Is probably our favorite resort, whether traveling with the kids or not, but it was perfect for us.

Things we did differently without kids: Dining! We tried restaurants that we knew our kids wouldn't be crazy about. Schedules! We worried much less about the timing of things. (this was pre FP+ though) It was soooo nice to just stroll through World Showcase sipping wine, chatting, and just taking everything in.

We are booked to stay at the GF Villas in the Spring to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The kids are older now, so we don't have to it's nice not to be worrying about who will be at home babysitting! We honeymooned at Grand Floridan, so this is really special. We do have some dining booked that we don't do with the kids, and will get to visit the Flower and Garden Festival for the first time. Can't wait!!

Hope you have a magical trip, happy planning!

We did an adults only trip last year for our 25th anniversary. Of all the things that we did, eating at Victoria & Albert's was the greatest. If you like really fine dining it was totally worth it. We were there for the Flower and Garden Festival which was also great. It was nice to be able to do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted. Don't get me wrong. We love going with the kids but this trip was very relaxing. I envy you. Have fun.

The answer to your question "now what?" is.............whatever YOU want. :)

We've gone on multiple kidless trips. It's glorious. Enjoy!

Well, you have on your list what i was going to suggest for a GREAT activity .. Marceline to MK Tour. We did this tour early November as a wrap up to a wonderful 2 week trip. Best $60.00 i've spent in a long time. Not sure if you're aware or not BUT part of the tour was a backstage peek at the ballroom scene of the HM ... we actually got to stand inside the Mansion. We had so much fun in that 3 hour period of time and learned things that even this Disney freak was unaware of.

Something that no one else has mentioned ... alarm clock and holiday shouldn't be allowed in the same sentence (nor the same room) so use your FP+ to make sure you can do the headliners after you've had a breakfast at a restaurant where you can get real coffee in an actual china mug!! We can never sleep in if kids are involved so that is a treat for us.

Oh, and as someone else said "Whatever you want!" and if that means looking at your schedule and saying "nope, i don't feel like using that FP+ right now" then WOOT, don't do it :thumbsup2

Have a blast :cool1:

Closest we got was with a one year old while our two oldest stayed with friends. We saw La Nouba ( with a captivated 1 year old). On our actual anniversary, we had childcare and went to dinner at the upstairs restaurant in France (prior version) and then hung out at jellyrolls before pumpkin time (aka baby curfew).

Our non-Disney anniversary trip involved activities we wouldn't do with the kids, so I would check all guys out. The one in AK where you walk on elevated platforms through habitats looks pretty cool.

Nice dinners are a must.

I would take pleasure in walking through security WITHOUT bags.

One thing I'd like to do is the monorail crawl. Since you'll be right there, that would be convenient, and lots of fun. If you don't drink, get a snack at each resort. If you do, try out the different bars, and explore the resorts a little. Have fun! :goodvibes
