My Dh and I celebrate our 20th anniversary next year. Our DS's who will be 17 and 15 will be going also. We are going 8/21/14, 3 night and then going to the world after the cruise. We go to the world every year and have talked about a cruise and decided not to put it off no more.

Any thoughts or ideas for this newbie cruisin family are wanted. I want to make this a great experience for everyone.

I am so excited I think I might just bust. :goodvibes

Just a little head's up, if your 17 year old will be 18 by(or during) cruise time, he won't be able to go to Vibe (the teen club).

Oh my gosh.....tomorrow is my 25th Wedding Anniversary and my Dh asked me what I wanted as a gift. I said, I really want to go on a Disney cruise again. At first I thought wait till 2015, but I could not wait.

I just got done booking August 21st and two of my 3 sons are going they will be 16 and 14 by next August.....can you believe the cowincidence of that.

It will be our 4th cruise.

Your son should love the teen club. My older son enjoyed it on both the Magic and Dream he was 16 and 17 at the time of those cruises. He probably will not be joining us he is in college and in an engineering coop that goes all year round.

Definitely go to Palo.....we love it....only have been on the Magic. Since, it a 3 nigh cruise we probably will just do Palo and save Remy for a 7 Night in the future.

We cruised the dream in 2011 in August and I Said never again because we had problems due to Hurricaine Irene, but I could not pass up the price. And really can it happed twice....I'll take my chances.

We loved the AquaDuck ....ride it when everyone else goes to the early dinner....the deck clear and it a great time for the pool and hot tubs...

Take in a movie in the beautiful Buena Vista theatre, as well as the shows.

Read these boards you will get tons of advice....:cheer2:

See you on the ship:banana:

Am I reading correctly that you will be doing the same cruise as of us on 8/21/14? My 16 year old is not looking forward to this at all. He thinks it will be Titanic. My other son just wants to feed the stingrays. LOL!

Yes we are on the same cruise. This will be the 3rd cruise for them. DH and I cruised by ourselves out of NY last year for my 50th.

The ship is beautiful that teen club is outrageous with own sun deck with spa pools.

My boys are a little out going. My older son always met other teens that he would hang out with. He never came back to room every night before 1am or later. It much easier to make friends when your own the ship for a week. 3 days will depend how out going you are and willing to just go for it and have fun.

Remember...do not worry about them having fun....make sure you have a good time....it a great ship with lots to do...it up to our boys to appreciate and enjoy the opportunity given to them.

We are planning to go to Disney Vero Beach before the cruise.

Have fun planning....

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :cool1:

Have a great cruise!

I would strongly suggest you do it the other way around. HUGE difference. You'll be able to relax on the cruise after the mad rush of the parks.

Also, if you could try to stretch to a 4n. A 3n is too short for a first cruise. Think about it...

Got wind of this when on our cruise we had 11 and 15. Their is a 18 to 21 group they have a meeting on first night on board to determine what they are going to do. Sorry but this is all I heard.

We booked this last Dec. as a maybe but as I have come to realize I will be turning 40 on the 22nd we have decided to keep it :). Now I have several friends whom will be going with us. Just adults :goodvibes

Thank you

My husband and I have been to Disney 3 times before (although the last time was Christmas 2007 - so it has been a while) but it will be our first trip with our daughter so I am guessing I will have lots of questions!!
