Just booked my first FP+ ever

I realize I'm going to get flamed for this but................ The OP has more than 4000 posts on this board so............this FP issue is a surprise? Given many guests can set FP+ 60 days in advance are you really surprised that your having trouble at 30 days, with what is arguably the most popular ride at the MK?

Does it stink......yeah I guess, but as another poster put it, you can ride..........you'll just have to wait in a line..............which you choose not to do. If the 7DMT is such a driving force that you took a day out of you visit to Universal to "just" do that ride...........why not do it?

Doug :goofy:

If you realize you will get flamed, then why choose to stir the pot? I'll let it pass since you are a newbie. Have a nice day!

Hey everyone! I logged back on this morning and got them. They had availability in the evening. Not sure what was up last night. But all is well now. Thanks to those who checked this morning and let me know!!!

The booking window didn't open until 1:00a this morning, instead of the usual midnight. Perhaps that was part of the problem. That will be the pattern for the next week or so.

That's good info. Thanks for letting us know!

Glad to hear you got your FP's...................your response to my post (not answering my questions) was expected.

I waited patiently for the clock to strike 11pm, 30 days out from our trip. All I wanted was to try the new 7 dwarves ride. In my 20 trips to WDW and DLR, I would never have imagined this scenario. I came home from a romantic pre-valentine dinner with my husband only to say, "oh sorry, I have to cut the date short... have to get our fast passes... save me some cheesecake." So I waited and at 11pm I was on. No Seven Dwarves available 30 days out.

This is beyond ridiculous. Disney held up the hoop, I jumped through it and what did I get for it? Buzz, Big Thunder and Space. Gee thanks. I can ride all those at DLR without waiting with baited breath for my stupid 30 day window. I can hit DLR at my leisure and ride those three rides over and over using the old FP system.

We chose to take a one day break from Universal simply to check out 7DMT. I can't get a FP for it 30 days out?? This is my last trip to WDW.
So for the big rant over how bad FP is and I'm done with Disney.......you got what you wanted in FP at Disney? :confused3

Did OP forget that on site guests get early access to FP+?
That's sure to swallow up FP+ fro the most popular rides, especially 7DMT.

Yep, at 5:50pm... locking me out of getting other FPs for the bulk of the day... it's awesome.

You said "locking me out of getting other fp for the bulk of day" oh well, not worth the time.........:wave2: Since you said so, I'm going back to bed!:lmao:

I have 37,000 posts. Folks are still learning the system. No need to use post count as a justification for "should have known".
(Just my opinion and not intended personally.)

I have a question--how did it lock you out?
Was your plan for the 4th FP and beyond?
Not sure the crowd level that day, but it isn't our of the realm of possibility. I can see how that would be disappointing if that is what you were counting on.

Yeah, we had hoped to start pulling our fourth FP by noon at the latest. So, I'm clearly bummed.

With the old system we pulled FPs for a minimum of 6 rides a day and rode others standby. Many days we would have FPs leftover that we didn't need and would give them to another family. That was always one of my favorite things to do, to spread a little pixiedust.

I guess I just need to get with the program for this last trip to WDW. I'm sad that things have gone this way. But you have to be comfortable with your own touring style. If it doesn't mesh, you have to move on to other vacations elsewhere.

AustinTink, not sure if this will work for you...

But my strategy before they had added the 4th was to do all my FPs in the afternoon was to do rope drop and hit the known "lengthy lines later in the day" rides first thing. It seemed morning FPs were almost waisted since morning lines tend to be much shorter than the afternoon. I still find that a good strategy especially if you are a smaller party who can navigate from One attraction to the next more quickly.

The late bookings do impair the ability to get prime rides on a 4th FP later in the day. So I am just wondering if it may be to your benefit to move the 2 morning FP rides later, but before mine train, to allow greater flexibility in the morning.

I know. That really is the best strategy. That's how we always do it when we stay on property. But, since we are staying the week at Universal, we had decided that this day at WDW was just going to be our sleep in day since we knew there would be limitations with FP and spring break crowds. We had planned to arrive round 9:30. I may need to rally the troops to do one last rope drop for old times sake.

Understood.

With it being a Monday and a work day in Orlando--that is a tough call heading over from the Universal resort area.

Exactly. We were going to try to leave behind the morning commuters. Oy! I have a headache from all this fuss.

From the looks of other threads it seems others are having problems with that date as well.

But just to confirm - you're trying for Monday, 3/16? If so, I was just able to grab 3 for 7p-8p so if you want to coordinate a transfer just PM me.

Thanks, Lake! I was able to get FPs for 5:50. Are you all doing Universal or just WDW?

How is it "the bulk of the day"?

You have 7 hours remaining after your 3rd FP, plenty of time to get at least 3 more no problem.

Is everyone in Austin going at the same time:)? We will be at Uni (RPR) 3/13-17 and then POR 3/17-21. If so, ABIA will definitely be busy.

You could also try to overlap individual FP to maybe get an earlier time, but it seems like a hassle.
