Just booked my first FP+ ever

I'd bet Buzz and Pirates would at least be available. Just keep those till the end.

Anticipating negative experiences is an odd life view

Is everyone in Austin going at the same time:)? We will be at Uni (RPR) 3/13-17 and then POR 3/17-21. If so, ABIA will definitely be busy.

You could also try to overlap individual FP to maybe get an earlier time, but it seems like a hassle.

I guess Aisd, RR and CP all have the same dates. We can all wear Keep Austin Weird shirts to point each other out. ;)

I remember going one Spring Break (2008 maybe) and seeing so many families from our school all over WDW. It was a really slow week of Spring Break that year and almost all the rides were walk- on. Those were the days!

Add Dallas. We will be in town the same week. Our MK day isn't until March 20 so it should be interesting. I won't take such late FP+ so we might have to depend on rope drop.

Goading people on anonymous forums is odd as well. Everyone has different touring styles. Nothing negative about that.
I think that going through this kind of trouble is silly so you have my sympathy. FP+ definitely doesn't fit our touring style.

I guess I just need to get with the program for this last trip to WDW. I'm sad that things have gone this way. But you have to be comfortable with your own touring style. If it doesn't mesh, you have to move on to other vacations elsewhere.

That's exactly right. If it doesn't work for you, then it doesn't and you find something else that does. It would be sad for us too, but that's just the way it is.

I'm glad you were able to get your fp+'s though. As for pixie dust- I miss giving out fp's too that we didn't use, but I do it electronically now. I didn't get to see the reaction of someone who was in the park and suddenly saw sdfp availability for sdmt when I dropped 4, but I knew it probably happened.pixiedust:

Looks like it will be Texas week at WDW.

Seems like it! We are Texans as well (Dallasites) and will be there that week - in the parks 3/16-3/21 - maybe we'll see you at MK on the 20th ;)

You're right. I'm sure you really made someone's day! Remember "The Year of a Million Dreams" in 2006-07? That was the year where we really started to understand the magic of pixie dust. That was such a cool time at WDW. I wish that feeling was still around.

I waited patiently for the clock to strike 11pm, 30 days out from our trip. All I wanted was to try the new 7 dwarves ride. In my 20 trips to WDW and DLR, I would never have imagined this scenario. I came home from a romantic pre-valentine dinner with my husband only to say, "oh sorry, I have to cut the date short... have to get our fast passes... save me some cheesecake." So I waited and at 11pm I was on. No Seven Dwarves available 30 days out.

This is beyond ridiculous. Disney held up the hoop, I jumped through it and what did I get for it? Buzz, Big Thunder and Space. Gee thanks. I can ride all those at DLR without waiting with baited breath for my stupid 30 day window. I can hit DLR at my leisure and ride those three rides over and over using the old FP system.

We chose to take a one day break from Universal simply to check out 7DMT. I can't get a FP for it 30 days out?? This is my last trip to WDW.

Thats's too bad :( It is very possible it will pop up right before your trip, so I would keep checking frequently. People cancel and change FP+s all the time, so do't give up hope yet.

And if all else fails, if you go to MK on a day with early or evening EMH, you should be able to ride 7DMT with not long of a wait.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Hey, OP, just because you got your coveted FP for 7dmt doesn't mean you will be able to ride it! We were in WDW last November for 8 days. I got the fp for 7dmt for the last day of our trip. When the day and time finally arrived, along came a downpour! I mean a flood!!! It was continuous and awful. The CM at mine train said we could ride anytime that day, BUT it kept on with the downpour all day! So, I'm glad we decided to wait in standby one day, yes even for 60 minutes, and therefore actually did ride it. It wasn't a bad wait at all, the que is amazing. If we hadn't decided to use st for this ride, we would not have been able to ride it. So, hope all works out for you.

We made the mistake of waiting until the last day to catch the parade at MK- one daughter had never seen it. Yeah, it got rained out. Now, if it's a must do, it gets done at the front of the trip. We've been enough times, we should've known better but we've always lucked out with good weather. We go in the summer, the rain never lasts. This was fall, the rain never stops. But, she'll see it next time. For 1 time visitors or those who only go every few years- best advice ever is to do the must do's up front, just in case.

I do want to see the electrical parade. I have missed it so much since it moved from DLR. We will most likely hit the second showing at 11, after most of the families with little ones clear out. It's one of the perks to having a teenager.

MSEP is a highlight for me. Hope you get to see it. We missed it the years it was gone. I was so glad when it came back.

..you know you can still ride it, right? You aren't required to have a FP+ to ride it...

times million like, op why would you do that to your husband? A romantic dinner, a night of passion no where enters into my head hold on let me get my Disney planning on.

I'm sorry, but I'm really shocked and I'm really obsessive about our Disney trip planning.

and you should have expected that.
just like A&E would be difficult to get 30 days out.
this is where staying onsite gives you an advantage.

and if 7DMT was the "only" reason for going to MK then just wait in the standby line and go on it!

ETA: ugh and then i realize on page 2 you GOT it so the previous drama was for nothing.
i really wish people would stop bashing FP+ just cuz they don't get their way.

Ordinarily I would agree--but this was a learning curve mistake that not everyone is aware of but Mesaboy tried to remind folks.

MK closed at 1am last night, so you could not begin booking until then.

I think we can all agree that when you think you are following proper procedure and you can't book anything at all, that it would be frustrating. She was able to book after a number of folks pointed out what the issue likely was while also letting her know that plenty if passes seemed to be available.
