Ok, we were just at WL in December and when we left we said goodbye to the mouse for what we thought would be 2 years. Well, yesterday friends of ours asked us to go with them in October for Halloween. After a very long time of twisting our arms (at least 2 seconds), we said we're there. So to make a long story short, I just made the reservation for the CR MK view.

Can anyone give me any suggestions? I requested an upper floor. Any other thoughts? How is the noise from the monorail?

Thanks!

1st Let me say congragulations on making a reservation for the best possible view in all of WDW. As for the type of floor your on my family and I have had a Magic Kingdom view as low as the 6th floor and as high as the 14th floor and I did not see a difference, of course others might have a different opinion about that. As for hearing noise from the Monorail that is not a factor at all.

I agree with the previous poster. But I'd still shoot for the highest floor possible. Request the 10th or 11th floor. 12 and 14 are concierge floors.

Also, congratulations. That is the best view you can possibly have in WDW. We were just there this past May. We had requested the 11th floor but we got bumped to the concierge level, which was nice.

The view, coupled with the balcony, cannot be overstated. It just makes for a great way to spend the end of the day. And the beginning.

The only thing I can guarantee is you will not get a room on the 5th floor, because there are no Magic Kingdom views on that side because of the Monorail station. They only have rooms for the Bay Lake view, which is something you don't need to worry about.

Congrats on selecting one of the best resorts in wdw! Higher floors are best because it will provide a slightly better MK view and will have less noise from the parking lot. Really it does not matter because all the views are great and normally people don't have problems with noise from the monorail or the parking lot.

I just switched my reservation for August from The GF to The CR MK view and I could not be happier!! It wasn't available when I booked but I kept trying back!

Congratulations! :goodvibes I think you will love it!

Here is what you will see at night (taken from 12th floor):

Since there is a picture of the view at night, here is what it would look like during the day and this was also taken from the 12th floor.

This view is AMAZING. Request the beds that face MK. Cause you can see it while your lying in bed. And YES you do have to see the parking area, but on the Bay Lake side you have to the see/hear the DVC construction anyway. I only had this room for one night, but it was one of the most amazing experiences I ever had at WDW.

We stayed on the 9th floor room 4548. End of the hallway. The view was spectacular. We didn't hear any noise from the monorail.

You'll love the view!!!! :tink:

Congrats! :yay:

I'm trying really hard not to be jealous. CR MK view is currently my dream resort/room view. :cloud9:

You will love it. We stayed there in December on the 8th floor, perfect view of the MK. It was great having the Christmas lights from the castle as a night light all night long. Our beds faced the MK. I could sit in bed and look out in awww  I mihgt be able to post some pictures later. we were at the end of the building closest to the MK. When we stepped out onto the balcony, we could see everything. We could watch the monorails coming from the MK. We never heard it while in the room, so that isn't a problem. I don't think I heard it when we were in the hall, unless we were looking over the inside balcony.

I would love to stay there again someday.

Yay, we will be there in June of this year with a Tower MK view, should I have requested an upper floor when I made our reservation or can I just put the request in when we arrive?

Even if you made the request over the phone or when you check-in, it's nothing more then a request which they might not be able to do. Personally I don't see a difference between a low floor and a high floor since it's the same view, however that's just my opinion.

You guys have been wonderful. Thanks for the input and pictures.

Another bit of good news. We had booked room only and were going to piece together the rest (tickets, meals, etc...). Well, I checked my reservation online this morning and the home address was incorrect. When I called to have it corrected I had a wonderful cm who asked if I knew I also had a code in my profile for discount on the ddp - which I did not. When he went through the details it made perfect sense for us to switch from room only to the package - it saved us close to $850.00! Woohoo!!!

That sounds great and I guess you can say it was meant to be that your address was incorrect, because would you have known this if you never had to call CRO to have it fixed and etc.

This is my "dream" resort experience too and I got a 40% off postcard so I booked the MK view for our land stay before our cruise in September. I am *so* looking forward to that!!!!

Can you give us more details. I was offer a package code, but decided that the 40% off was better. What are your specs if you don't mind sharing please.
