Hi

I am all excited and little nervous. Since having my twins 2 years ago they have left me a yucky excess skin. The prob is the NHS does not want to know and being obese they definately dont want to help. Although the majority of my weight is the excess skin :crazy2:

I have made an appt for Wed to see Cambridge Diet Counsellor. I will be having 3 shakes a day for meal replacements. I see a Plastic Surgeon (Private) on the 23rd August. He probably wont touch me but will more than likely give me a target to reach before he does the procedure (more than the NHS did) this is ok with me, as the ball is rolling now and I have some targets to reach.

Has anyone had any cosmetic surgery? If so any suggestions or things to look out for. The place I am going to is a Surgeons who work at Queen Victoria who perform privately as well so knowing this puts my mind to rest.

Thanks hope I have not made you all feel too ill :rotfl2:

Very interested to hear how you get on - I'd love a tummy tuck as I've also got hat awful baby belly - and no matter how much I diet and exercise it just won't go. please let me know if they give you a weight loss target etc.

Good luck! Hope it goes well

You're a brave lady, want to wish you every success with this, :grouphug:

Good for you.

A couple of my friends have had tummy tucks on the NHS and, although sore for a while, are very pleased with the results :sunny:

good luck! i have had surgery that they classed as cosmetic but it was actually medical. I had some teeth that hadn't come through (ie were still high up in my jaw) and needed a brace as strange as it sounds, my wonky teeth were giving me neck and back problems....so i had to have teeth chiselled out of my jaw so that they could consequently slap half a kilo (or what it felt like!) of metal on the teeth that Were there!!

Good Luck :wizard:
Please keep us up dated

Hi

Thank you for your support. I hope he sais it can be done. My parents are annoyed that I am not waiting for the NHS. I am fed up with waiting now and just want it sorted.

Thanks and will keep you posted. Especially how my liquid diet is going

Oh, good luck - really best wishes: I admire you.

No personal experience, but there was a series of programmes on the TV a few months ago about women using plastic surgery to help resolve long standing problems. Quite a few of the women were suffering from quite serious excess skin after babies and/or loosing quite serious weight... Although it was TV (so you can't trust everything that is portrayed!), the results were amazing AND the women seemed very happy with it. I believe that the incisions are mde below the bikini/waist line - so that you can wear bikinis withough showing any scars.

The only advice I can think of is, do what the doctors tell you (i.e. sticking to the diet and any recouperative measures etc) and use it as a real opportunity to become the woman you want to be (i.e. keep the weight off, keep exercising and feel great about yourself).

Lots of best wishes,
Boo

Good luck, i hope everything works out for you :)

It wouldnt it be nice if they offered get 1 free deal. Imagine the amount of money we would all save. The way we figured it we would either re-mortgage or perhaps use our money we have saved for FL. We are not entirely sure how we are going to do it. Pends really on how long it takes to get some of the excess weight off. I think I am nuts if I did it being this big, but I really want to get the ball rolling and having a surgeon telling me what to do I think will help me and will give me some more encouragement. Tonight I go and see my Cambridge Counsellor and tomorrow will be my first liquid diet I must be nuts LOL.

Thanks for all the supprt and advice.
