Just a heads up to all those who are looking to stay at the Hyatt the night before your cruise - I just booked the MCO Hyatt for $52 plus tax for August 29. It was 3 1/2 keys. I picked it because I noticed there was no icon for a shuttle...figured it would have to be the Hyatt since there is no need for a shuttle. I'm so happy...I would have had to pay $112 plus tax otherwise (AAA rate). Hope others have luck with this!!!!

Is that a rating system on hotwire? DH and I are looking for a good rate at the Hyatt, but it sounds like you don't get to pick your hotel when you bid. Does the web page indicate which hotels fall into what category, allowing you to discern that the Hyatt must have been the one with no shuttle?

We have never used such a service before, so I am a little aprehensive about how it works. Thanks for any input you can give.

I am looking at Hotwire right now and see a 3 1/2 star hotel with NO shuttle. But the customer comments seem to indicate it is off-site. Can you help with the other ammenities listed?

Ok...Hotwire uses keys instead of stars for ratings. Hyatt is 3.5 Keys. Please keep in mind that hotwire is like priceline in that you do not know the name of the hotel until you purchase. There is no guarantee you will get Hyatt - but there is a good chance. The symbols (hotel amenities) for the Hyatt are: Knife/fork (food), Swimming, Gym, business center, and Tennis Raquet - there is no symbol for shuttle because one is not needed. It is still coming up as $52 for Aug. 29. I did not see where to read customer comments. I have heard people paying upwards of $80 for this closer to their sailing date. I hope this helps....

Thanks QC.

A little hesitant to pull the trigger yet. My rate is for $69 for the 3 1/2 star. It comes up with a Customer Favorite! Read customer feedback link next to it. I will continue to monitor. Thanks again.

I paid the $112/night for Aug 30th because I'm just too concerned that I would end up with an off-site hotel. I want Hyatt and absolutely no other. I guess the rate is worth the assurance to me. Congrats Quirky Cruiser!

Be careful! I too found the no shuttles icon as a good indicator that this was the Hyatt Regency and instead it turned out to be the Crowne Plaza on Hazeltine which does have a shuttle. I assume that they omitted the shuttle icon in order to make you think it was the Hyatt. In fact if I remember correctly they tell you that the icons shown are definately accurate but that they reserve the right to withhold additional icons. This allows them some "wiggle" room in not having people always be able to book the Hyatt and not the other hotels.

BTW the Crowne Plaza was great too! Close to Chilis and Dennys as well as about a 1/2 mile to Walgreens. The shuttle driver even drove us to Chili's on his way back to the airport at 10:30pm!

I am contemplating doing the hotwire thing too but I am scared now that it won't be the Hyatt. I also got a rate of $52 and am currently reserved for $112. Boy that would be a great savings. What do I do?????????????? Help!!!!

Glad to hear you also successfully got the Hyatt! I knew I was taking a chance booking it on Hotwire, but I figured I would be satisfied with anything. I really want to invest my money into excursions and not a room (we won't get into Orlando until 10pm and when we wake up it will be time to cruise!!! so I hate to pay for amenities I know I won't be using). Best of luck to anybody else considering booking - if you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask!!!

I just booked for November and got the $52.00 rate. Thanks for posting this QC.

Great Hotel! We were on the 19 April sailing of the Magic, and coming from the West Coast, arrived on Friday Night.

It was very easy to find, and you can take a luggage cart of baggage up to check-in. They will move luggage to your room and return the cart.

DCL also has a check-in at the Hotel. I think it is for those that Disney sent there, but why not use it too?

Put the crusie tags on your bags and put them outside your door in the morning, about 8am.

Go down and check-out of your room, find a quick breakfast and then meet with the DCL people in the lobby. They ought to be setting up about 9:15am. They give you the last minute forms, instructions and you do the paperwork and go when they call your bus.

Good luck to all!

Sandy

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Thanks for the awesome tip. We're cruising at the end of June, and arrive late into the airport. It's the perfect solution. You are the greatest!!!:bounce: :jester:

Great Dan and Scott

I take it you used the same strategy as Quirky Cruiser? Booked a 3 1/2 star without a shuttle?

I just follwed the suggested plan and got the Crown Plaza for a total of $80 for 1 night. I use Priceline all the time and can't believe that I did this idiotic thing. Completely my own fault.

Threehearts

Sorry Threehearts. I was beginning to think I should have tried it too but my room at the Hyatt is already paid for at the $112 rate and I would have lost money trying to cancel. Again, sorry but I'm sure it's a nice hotel.

I've been VERY tempted to do this but since some report not getting Hyatt Orlando Airport hotel when they tried I think I'll stick with my $83 plus tax rate for Nov 29.

I really need to be at the airport as we won't get our rental car till the next morning!

Thanks for the info though!

WhoHoo!! I just got the HYATT airport for the $52.00 on Hotwire for the night before our September cruise! THANKS A MILLION for the great tips!!

I'm happy for those who have been successful in getting the Hyatt on Hotwire, but I do feel terrible for those who didn't get it using my strategy. Sorry for any trouble I caused!!!! Hey Renzdr, when in September are you going??? My sister and I will be on the Magic August 30 - Sept 6....we're counting the days now!!!
