Just booked Air Tran for first time ...

since they were cheaper than SWA this time around. Question: I've heard that they often change their flight times - is it by much or just an hour or so?

You didn't say which airport you were flying out of. It appears to me that AirTran's schedule changes were more common in some airports than others. I fly out of FNT and have never had a time change of more than 30 minutes. Usually if there's a change at all it's less than 5 minutes. But others have reported drastic schedule changes from other airports. The one common thing is that AirTran is VERY accomodating when your schedule has been changed.

We fly Airtran out of BWI to Orlando, and back. Airtran has only changed one flight time on us and that was a 45 minute change flying back to Baltimore.
All airlines do this from time to time, unfortunately---

I booked 3 seats for August for AirTran and I do hope they don't change the schedule as the times are absolutely perfect...from Rochester,NY.

Log in on their website and check your bookings at least weekly. If there is a change they will not notify you until about 1 month before your flight. If you check yourself, you will be able to call the 800# and they will make whatever changes you need before the plane is full. You definitely want to check though because even though your flight may only be changed by a few minutes, it could be going from a nonstop to a stop or needing to get on another plane.

We usually fly JetBlue and Southwest but I booked AirTran for the first time a couple of months ago for a March flight from BOS-FLL. It was their only non-stop flight and I noticed a few weeks ago that they changed it by 3 hours (unfortunately, later rather than earlier). But there's always a chance flight times will be changed and I was aware of that before I booked.

I wouldn't mind a time change of an hour or so, but going from a non-stop to layovers wouldn't make me happy! We flew Northwest this past summer and our flight times changed frequently and even the connecting cities changed but the time was only by a few minutes so it didn't interfere too often. I'm used to flying Southwest where the times seem to be set in stone!
