Great haul! I wish I had been there to shop ours but will in the spring. My kids don't need anything anyway. I do hope there is a selection of bigger kids stuff though since they are at the age where it is hard to find good used clothes, shoes, etc. Good luck on selling the glider. I am considering selling mine as well but I truly love it just don't use it much.

My weekend started out great. I sold $190 worth of stuff on Thursday and $203 on Friday (including my glider and play yard ). But then the wheels fell off the bus. On Saturday when it was *free* to the public I only sold $32 and yesterday when things were half price I only sold $22 worth of stuff . And I brought home $450 worth of stuff yesterday so only half of my stuff sold . I *think* it was due to it being a big football weekend here in Madison. The Badgers played at home on Saturday and the Packers played on Sunday, both games right smack in the middle of the sale. I also think that they had no handle on advertising the sale. They were able to get a TV crew there ... ON SUNDAY MORNING! What the heck? What good does that do?

The people who were running the sale were very nice and I know they worked very hard at making things work. The sale was set up well and it looked very professional. But something went really wrong on Saturday and Sunday . I hope that the spring sale will be better. Luckily, there are two JBF sales and then the Half Pint Resale in March, April and May .

Now I need to go through my rejects and pull out things that I will try to sell in the spring and those that will go up on eBay (like the brand new Columbia jacket originally priced at $100 which I priced at $38 ... yes you can get a Columbia jacket for 60% off if we wait until February! Grrr!) and those that will go to the local Free Clothing Center and written off my taxes.

Could someone answer a couple questions about the JBF sale? We don't have one locally but there is one a couple hours away. If I do one of these sales and drop off my stuff do I need to go back to get paid or do they do it electronically? Does the drop off time frame usually include the day before the sale? Any problems that you can foresee living far away from the sale?

You should check your sale's calendar for drop-off times. It should be on the website for the sale off the main JBF website.

Our sale ran from Thursday - Sunday. I helped set up on Wednesday and there was a drop-off time on Wednesday evening and another on Thursday morning. The preview sale was on Thursday with people who volunteered more hours shopping first and people like me who only volunteered 4 hours shopping a few hours later. The sale was open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Sunday being the half-price day. They will send you your check, but you will have to return to the sale if you want your unsold items back. Or ... you can mark them to be donated for you and you won't have to worry about it. If you're not sure if you want to pick up the items or donate them you can uncheck "donate" and if it's not worth going back for them just email the organizer and let her know she can donate them. I believe that they all have the rule that your items will be automatically donated if you don't pick them up.
