I just heard from my TA. She just received a call from DCL. We have been upgraded from cat. 6 to cat. 3! We are sailing Sept. 1st. and this is our first cruise! Some one pinch me please!!!! I hope everything on the trip goes this well. See..........dreams really do come true.:earsgirl:

Wow you are one lucky person. Enjoy the upgrade, and be sure to share all the details with us when you get back!!!

There have been a few others upgraded within the past week. Looks like the ships may not be filling up quite as much as in the past. Maybe upgrades will become more common.........there's always hope:bounce:

To say nothing of how hard it is to back down a cat or two after experiencing the higher one! Could be a method to DCL's madness? LOL

Deb

i agree that once you are upgraded into a better category, it is almost impossible to go back to the old category, or at least in my case, impossible!!!

We are sailing in a CAT 6 next March 2003. I am hoping that some of your luck will rub off on me and that we will have an opportunity to experience an upgrade too.
Enjoy your new room and please come back and tell us how great it is:)

WOW! That is great! We leave on 9/21 and it would be a dream to be upgraded from cat 5 to 3 :) Have a wonderful time!

Do you think that maybe they offer upgrades in the order in which rooms are booked? For example, in August we booked a cruise for next April. Do you think we have a better chance at being upgraded than someone who doesn't book until January?

We will also be on the Sept 1 cruise. I checked the Disney website yesterday and we were also upgraded. We went from a Cat 7 to Cat4. We started out with a cat 12 and decided a couple months ago to upgrade to cat 7. Not bad. Start at 12 and end at 4. HMMMM

I agree, our cruise may not be full. If that means I get an upgrade yippee!!

See you there.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

We cruised in a cat 5 room last year, and we are staying in a cat 3 this year - can't wait!

We are considering back-to-back cruise for next year, so I posed the question to my kids: Which would you rather have, 2 weeks in a cat 5 or 1 week in a cat 3. Their answer??

Why not 2 weeks in the suite!!! LOL Fat chance! :)

Way to go!!! What website did you find that information on???

Congratulations!!! Enjoy the upgrades. We'll be on the Sept. 1 cruise too (middle cruise of our three-peat), but we'll be in steerage (well, not really...a secret porthole room). I hope to see you all there...watch for us in our Castawayclub.com t-shirts, and we'll be brining the pixie dust for good weather. With all the upgrades, maybe it isn't a very crowded cruise.

goin2disney.... just go to www.disneycruise.com. Go under the reservations tab. You will need to have your reservation number and your phone number. This should give you all your reservation information....including your room number.

Our reservation still indicates a Navagators Veranda, but the room number is for a Cat 4.

Hope that helps.....

Come on Disney :)

If cruise #24, 25, 26 doesn't warrant
an upgrade for Barb and Tony...what does?

If you book directly with DCL, you can use the 'Check your Reservation' link on the DCL Reservations page.

Here's a link to it: http://dcl.reservations.disney.go.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/TravelCL?NBID=2245&NEID=DCLRootNE

If you booked using a Travel Agent, you will not be able to look at anything there, since there 'security upgrade' in that area.

I've said this many times before and I'll say it again. I don't see any harm in allowing the customer that is paying for the cruise to have read-only access to the summary information that is contained there. It allows the person that paid the fare to verify the cabin number, the payment status, and the dining time for their reservation. It doesn't disclose any 'proprietary information' that would be harmful to DCL if we could see it.

Allowing everyone to see their reservation info holds down the number of calls to the DCL reps for ordinary info and allows them to concentrate on more important things, like taking new reservations. Many times, people that can't see the info (because its blocked) call the DCL rep, then they are told they have to call their TA. So the guest calls their TA, they call the DCL rep, and then relay the info back to the guest. That's two phone calls the DCL rep had to answer for info that should be available online, with no benefit to their productivity.

Don't know if my rambling helped anyone else, but I feel better having said that!

I agree with 4nana, Barb and Tony deserve an upgrade. They have cruised on DCL more than anyone else.

Barb---Have you even be fortunate enough to get an upgrade.

Nancy

What are the chances on being upgraded when booking on points, even less then a cash reservation?? We would love to be bumped up from our cat 4 room!
