I am thinking I might drop by that party tomorrow night. How often is it you get invited to hang out with your favourite band???

That is a beautiful mural Goofy Mom!

I am thinking of putting up the Christmas Tree tonight. I know it's a little early, but what's the point of only having it up a few weeks? I know some people that don't put them up until Christmas Eve. What's the point? That's a lot of work for such a little amount of time to be up! But I am excited. I love Christmas. :) Next time I go to DLR, I would like it to be during the Christmas season. It looks so beautiful. Although the next time I go, I would also like to see the Haunted Mansion the way it's supposed to be. I liked the Nightmare Before Christmas theme, but it just wasn't the same. So we will see which one rules out the other I guess. It might be a few years now.

Good morning all. I wanted to share some of the talent that my mother has and skipped me. She painted this on my DD9's wall. For those who don't know, its the tree from Pixie Hollow

WOW! That is amazing, I would be super happy if I was your daughter!

Good Morning everyone! Its the weekend for me :banana:

My brother organised a family lunch today at Star City! Its the big Casino in Sydney and they have an amazing buffet :lovestruc
I get to see my nephew which I am excited for.

Hope everyone has a lovely day. Happy Friday for you!

That is one sweet mural (even if I'm not a fan of Tink and her friends ;)). I wish I could do that.

I do like being busy.. I spend a lot of time watching TV though too. I watch way to many shows!

If I'm not keeping busy I tend to fall asleep. That's why I sit on my laptop while watching tv.. If I run out of stuff to do on my laptop I then fall asleep in front of the tv. The last few weeks I have been especially tired... I think its from working so many hours but not positive...

Gee, you know it could be that....:rotfl:

I say go have fun. And if you want your tree up go for it. I have a Christmas background on my desktop already.:confused3 So why not?

Me too!!

I'll call it Redneck Acers.
:lmao:

I decided at the age of 28 to go back to school for nursing. I am SO happy I did it. I really love my job (most of the time)
I know a lot of nurses, and pretty much all of them love their job :lovestruc Do you work at a local hospital? I know a few at Good Sam.

That's a tough one! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE DLR at Christmas. I can't say it enough. It is so beautiful and magical, I get all misty-eyed thinking about it :lovestruc But yeah, from late September until January, you're just gonna see Jack Skellington at HM.

How fun! Have a blast :) and :goodvibes for your job/education situation.

I ended up going to the dreaded "W" store today to look for some holiday looking yarn for the scarf for Kody to wear to our Christmas concert we are going to. They had red, green, and white yarn with silver threads running through it and silver bells to put on it too. She is gonna so be holiday blinged for the Family Force 5.

Teenagers are out and about with their friends (it's Friday), and DH took DD6 to a birthday party so I currently have the house to myself :cloud9:

I'm waiting for one of my girlfriends to come pick me up, we're gonna grab a bite to eat before going to my neighbor's for a bunco game. That's a dice game - ridiculously easy to play so it allows plenty of time for girl chat :thumbsup2 Only $5 and a drink to share, and you can walk away with cash or the famous loser prize, which I personally covet :rotfl:

I just found out that a family we know is going to DLR from 12/12-12/22  That's probably too long, even for a freak like me ;) Hoping we can still swing a trip around those dates so we can hook up there. I'm pretty sure we're gonna do it, as long as DH gets the go ahead. I'm not sure if he'll have to take it easy on thrill rides (e.g. not ride them) or what :confused3 Hoping for some Christmas :wizard: ...

Ten days at DLR??? I love that place, but that does sound like a little too long of a trip! We were so beat by the time we got to Las Vegas after 5 days at the DLR.

May I ask why everyone dislikes Walmart so much? Lol. I love that place. I go there for almost everything. Maybe it's because we don't have Targets here though? :confused3

Ooh time to yourself? Sounds good.

10 days at Disneyland? That sounds like it might even be too long for me. Although I could stay at the park for a few hours of the day and hang out at the pool for a couple of hours when the weather is nice but this time of year it is a little chilly to sit by the pool this time of year.

Mine is partly because the manager of the store here in Fairfield is someone I worked for many years ago and well, lets just say I am not his biggest fan. And I am not a fan of a lot of their business practices. But, for yarn it is there or Michael's for this project.

I have a love-hate relationship with that store. The hate mostly because all the Wal-Marts in the San Jose area are really messy/trashy - BUT I have noticed in my last few random trips that they have really cleaned up, must have got upper mgmt attention or something :confused3 The love part comes from their amazing prices on some things - they can beat the pants off target on some things.

I know they are sleep-in people, get to the parks around 1 pm. They also have APs. So they aren't really park commandos. I guess that's why the 10 days? I dunno. A week is enough for me, and we don't totally park commando it, but we do the park opening thing so we can get rides in. The afternoon is always for napping/chilling, the evening for soaking up the atmosphere. I would be ready to go after night 5/6 though. *If* we go, we wouldn't leave until 12/18 and only stay until 12/21. I think the deluxe is blocked out on 12/22.

Our Walmarts have alwats been kept up for the most part. Never seem that trashy to me. There may be a couple iffy ones in Calgary, but the whole neighbourhoods where those are, are a little iffy, lol.

The prices are always great, and they almost always have everything that I need. Especially now that they are expanding to the Super Centers. Plus sometimes I like to go walk around there to kill some time. They've always got new things that catch my eye. I am sure Target is the same. I heard we were going to start getting some in Canada, but not sure if that's true or not.

Ours is incredibly dirty all the time. The new one hasn't been open 3 weeks and it is already dirty. The shelves are never stocked. It is just a mess.

I rushed everyone this last trip to get to the park before they open and you know next trip they are on their own. I will go when I want and they can go when they want.

I find that the neighborhoods that they are in normally aren't trashy when they first open. This one better not bring crime to the neighborhood. We live less than a mile from it.

I would love 10 days at DLR. It would be a different kind of trip than my shorter ones. I could take things a lot easier for starters. Relax more, take more breaks. Ooh, the photos I could get!

I detest Walmart, to be perfectly honest and it's more of a political thing so I wont talk about it much on the DIS and has more to do with things in the past that I vowed never to shop there and I still never will. On top of that ... it will probably come off completely wrong and I don't mean it too, but this is the only way I know how to put it into words. Where I've lived, Walmart = white trash. It really makes me sick to walk in there from the people who shop there to the people that work there. I can't speak for all Walmarts or all people who shop there. No offense meant, honestly.

ETA: Ever checked out PeopleofWalmart.com?

We fought this one getting built but the city planning commission just did what they wanted.

I would have too. They turned an old Costco out here into one. It was not welcome. I still hate driving by it.

The one we fought is just around the corner from us. Not a great location for me.

That site is hilarious! It's not really like that here. It's just a department store. I guess every once in a while you see questionable people, but we see them other places too, lol. I wouldn't call it a classy place, but it's definitely not bad. I also worked there for close to two years. I loved my job for the most part. I actually got hired for a new store and got to help set it up. That was a pretty cool experience, and the people were great. I did end up getting sick of the job after a while, but that was the job, not the company. Maybe it's different in the states though? I dunno. :confused3 The one we went into close to DLR, was a little trashier than we are used to. Plus we aren't able to buy beer at Walmarts here, so that was a bit of a shock to us as well, lol.

I agree that you see people like that everywhere. I just think that it is that people expect to see them there?
