Just back--

Did you do the evening extra magic hours? Were they crowded & do the parks do additional fireworks? I mean is there a a showing of Fantasmic & Illuminations...etc...
Thanks for your help!

Hi! We just got back too-June 18-24 at BCV. I couldn't believe the temps! I was bracing for unbearable heat and with all of the clouds it was very bearable! We got to the parks when they opened, used fast pass and rode all of the popular attractions by lunch. Our only bad day was Monday when we went to Epcot which was the early opening park and the MK which had extra magic hours-both were way too crowded but we still saw what we wanted. We stayed away from the early opening and extra magic parks after that.

My kids just loved Stormalong Bay!
I wanna go back! :earsgirl:

Did you hit the water parks at all(either TL of BB) I am trying to see if TL is more crowded now because of the new ride. And I was also wondering about Evening EMH..are they worth staying up for.

Glad you had a great time :goodvibes  :wizard: Did you use Fast Pass? How did it work for you?How did you enjoy Soarin at Epcot? Thanks Danny

We were there 6/12-24 also, at BCV. Weather was very tolerable. Had a great time except for evening EMH. Wayyyy too crowded. I'll take back (and pay for) E-Ride nights anytime and my 9 YO DD agrees. Crowds in general were way up from what they have been the last few years in June. Buses ran fine. Lots more flagrant ignoring of smoking rules, only heard one CM even mention the stuff going on right in front of them. Still got last minute reservations in off-hour times (late lunches, early dinners at Le Cellier, Biergarten, San Angel Inn, Tony's, 50's Prime Time and Brown Derby.) DDE discount with letter worked well (hope to get cards for August trip - waiting 7 weeks). Soarin' was nice but tough to see unless you get a Fast Pass early or you really like to stand in line (example - at the BEGINNING of evening EMH on 6/16 the line to get Fast Passes extended all the way back to the entrance to Living with the Land ride and then curved around some more). Mission Space, on the other hand, was close to a walk-on at various times. Didn't do water parks. There were extra parades and Fantasmics which I think were on the EMH nights.

We also just got back. We thought the weather was pretty typical for this time of year. Nice in the mornings, rain in the late afternoons. It wasn't too hot. The parks seemed full but the lines didn't seem that bad; we used the fast passes which worked out just fine. If you get to the parks right when they open, it seems like you can get alot of rides done without much of a wait. One night we went to Magic Kingdom and waited an hour (!!) for Space Mountain. I was envious of the fast-passers that night. We were at Animal Kingdon on Tuesday. Is it me or is that park just complicated to get around in? I don't think the flow is very good. Except for the walkway now in front of Expedition Everest (the new roller coaster being built), you have to walk back to the middle of the park to get anywhere. Maybe I just felt it more since we were back and forth between Kali River Rapids and Primevil Whirl a several times. This was the first time I'd seen the new fireworks - "Wishes" - at Magic Kingdom. It was really great. The music was wonderful and the timing of the fireworks to the music was perfect. We had a great day at Disney-MGM - my daughter FINALLY got the courage to ride Rock 'n Roller Coaster and she loved it. We went to Epcot and stayed long enough to see Illuminations. We've seen it before but it is still great. We also went to Blizzard Beach. I thought it was really fun. However, the way Disney is now packaging the tickets, even though I had a park-hopper, I still had to pay extra to go the water park for one day. That doesn't seem right to me. It used to be if you had a park hopper, the water parks were included. Since I spent the day at the water park, I didn't use the park-hopper at one of the main parks. After all the money I spent for the park hopper tickets for me and my three children - most of whom are considered "adults" for ticket purposes - paying another $144 for 6 hours at the water park seems a little greedy on the part of Disney. But...I did it (begrudgingly) and we had fun. We had a great trip - a great way to transition into summer for us!

Hello--

EMH am: We did the EMHs on most of the mornings for each designated park. It was good to get into the park, get a couple of rides under your belt before the crowds came in. I was really disappointed in the fact that the ticket takers did not even check to see if we were resort guests on any day. I thought they did that in years gone by. They really should--or they should just say that the park is open to anyone an hour early.

EMH pm: We tried EMH in the Magic Kingdom one evening and did not feel the need to do it again. The transition time from when the park closed and non-resort stayers left the park was almost unbearable. After the first hour of EMH, crowds were better--but I agree--I'd rather spend my extra $12 like we used to for E nights and have far less people in the park.

My absolute favorite time in the MK was one night that there was a thunderstorm. We walked right up Main Street in our ponchos, and ate dinner at CRT (PS was for 8:00, but we ate at 7:30 since everybody was leaving the park). After dinner we were able to ride so many rides w/o a wait. We saw Spectromagic without having to "camp out" on the parade route and then saw Wishes with a perfect view. Ah--it was great!

Fast Pass: Yes, we used it for the headliners. My husband and I would go for it while the kids and other parent lingered a little longer at lunch or took a bathroom break. We found crowds to be very mangeable!!

Soarin: Wonderful--you leave feeling great! Did it twice--recommend Fast Pass! By 10:40 one day there was already a 70 minute wait.

We enjoyed Typhoon Lagoon more than Blizzard Beach this year. The new ride, Crush'n Gusher was a ton of fun!! BB didn't have the same thrill, and that is funny because we really like BB. Both, I think were equally as crowded. No real difference.

Hope this is helpful!
