Well, DH and I got back last night from a great trip! We stayed at the Marriott DD for the frst 5 nights (8.23-8.28) and WL the last 3 (8.28-8.31.) The Marriott was great for the money ($65 Saturday, $20.03 for the other 4 nights.) They had a platter of cookies at check in and a managers reception from 5pm-6pm every night with free beer, wine, soda and salsa/chips, popcorn! The walk to DD was 5-10 minutes on a tree and fountain lined path. The busses were as good as WDW transport except they pick up the other DD hotels so it is a bit of a wait. Marriott is the second picked up (always had seats and the 3rd dropped off.) In the parks they pick up at spot #26 at all parks every 1/2 an hour. The spot is right near the Disney busses.

The parks were not crowded at all until Saturday of Labor Day weekend. We stayed away from early entry and did MK Saturday the 23rd, Epcot Sunday the 24th, MGM Monday the 25th, AK and TL Tuesday the 26th, MK and Epcot Wed the 27th, MGM Thursday night the 28th, AK Friday the 29th and Epcot and MK Saturday the 30th. We walked on every ride the whole week-even Mission Space! It rained every afternoon around 4pm for about an hour. No problem since it was fast. More soon!

Thanks so much for sharing the Courtyard info :)

We're be there on the 29th and I had just posted a question on the resort board about when the reception is! Even Priceline can't beat that awesome 20.03 deal! Where y'all able to get a balcony/view ?

Glad to hear y'all had a great time. WOW--DTD is ten minutes away!!!! Isn't that where the Disney discount store is too (can't remember the name now...) Wanted to hit that the first night there :)

OH! Another question! I just read here at DIS that EpCot should be avoided on the weekend--I had wanted to go there on the first Sat in Oct (before FOOD AND WINE). So y'all didn't have much of a crowd then?

Our first room at the Marriott had 2 double beds with a balcony. The view was a busy road. We asked for a king and they switched us the next day. This room had no balcony but a pull out couch and a better/quiter road view. There were outlet stores close by-10 minutes. Epcot was not busy Sunday, the 25th.

Sounds like you had a great time can't wait for our next visit.:earsboy:  :earsgirl: :sunny:

Great--I appreciate it so much :)

Glad you had a good time! From reading your schedule our paths didnt cross. :( You had the better plan though. We found the parks to be pretty crowded. We managed very well, but it was definitely more crowded for us than last year.
