I just wanted to thank everyone on this board for all the wonderful advice and encouragement you gave me about my ECV and WC concerns. I was the one afraid to drive a scooter. Well I didn't get brave enough to do that but when I could not walk very far in the parks I did get the wheelchair and am so glad I did. My family took turns wheeling me around and since we always stay together anyway it worked out fine. I did feel a bit awkward at first but when I realized it was helping me and my family enjoy our vacation so much more I got over that very quickly. Only once did I encounter anyone rude and that was trying to leave MK after the Spectro Magic parade. I swear those people would have trampled right over me. All in all our trip was awesome and again I thank you for helping me see that there is nothing to feel embarrassed about when needing assistance. You guys are the best and this board has the nicest folks on the Dis.

Next time you will be more ready for the ECV now that you have used the wheelchair.

I'm glad you had a good trip. Welcome back!

Thanks. I'm hoping next trip I won't need either the ECV or the WC. I still have more tests to go through but my doctor says there may be injections that can help with the pain.
Our trip was wonderful although tiring. The crowds last week were horrific. I now have a new respect for folks using wheelchairs. I was amazed at how many folks just do not pay attention to where they are walking or backing up to. I had many almost mishaps.
I didn't have a problem with parking the chair and walking onto the attractions. Most times we parked it with the strollers and only once did we come back to find it had been moved. All of the CMs were extremely nice and very helpful. Several who were out in front of the attractions asked if I needed to use a handicap entrance or be wheeled right through. They never questioned my wanting to walk on my own. The wait times were pretty long at everything and standing was a bit of a problem at times but nothing major. We did pass up a few of the most popular attractions because of the wait times and fast passes already being gone. I think finding a week with slow crowds is starting to be a thing of the past at WDW. LoL

Happy to hear the news and glad we could help. Great news and nice to hear someone saying nice things about CMs.
