Stayed at the Fort 11/18 thru 11/24. We've tent camped and stayed in a popup many times before but it was the first time to stay in a cabin for us. I was impressed. I think it was one of the refurbished ones. It was very comfortable for 4 adults and mousekeeping did a great job of cleaning up after us. Also glad we rented a golf cart, the 2100 loop is a pretty far walk to everything. The clearing of the underbrush didn't take away from the appearance of the park as they seem to be planting bushed and trees to take it's place. Breakfasted every morning at the Trail's End. Buffet was excellent as usual.

Parks were very very crowded and fast passes seem to run out pretty rapidly. I didn't notice any surly CMs or guests. Weather was great, or at least better than it was at home.

I can't wait to go back.

We just got back also and had a great time. We were in loop 1900, and not impressed at all with these sites...they were very narrow. I guess that was ok cause we did not spend much time there..

One of the highlights was riding our Razorback Golf Cart and calling the HOGS after they beat LSU on Friday afternoon! i am sure people thought we were CRAZY! Oh well....we WERE:cool1:

We also had some bus issues, and a crazy bus driver on the yellow loop.

Did you all happen to notice the inflatable LSU tiger on the 100/200 loop? Kind of hard to miss. I have a story to tell about that- will be on my trip report soon.

I've read about that bus driver on another thread, hope hes not fired by the time I get there...I'd love to straighten him up a bit. I bet every passenger on the bus would say I was thrown into him due to wreckless driving versus him saying that.......edited because I promised Rhonda I'd be nice...... Of coarse Im just quoting something I saw in a movie and this shouldnt be admissable as evidence in a court of law!!

Actually, I think that was my uncle. They were in the 100 loop and he's a big LSU fan.

We just returned as well. We were in the 2700 loop in a refurbished cabin (not shockingly different but nice). I completely agree about the parks beign crowded. Much more crowded than we like but the weather was wonderful so it helps make the crowds more tolerable.

We love to rent a golf cart and just cruise the loops looking at everyone's decorations. It is a highlight of our trip.

I read in the check-in cabin that the reason they are clearing the campgrounds is to remove non-native plants that are inhibiting the growth of the natural plants. They received an award for their efforts.

We missed the crazy bus driver....the buses drive us nuts. We had to ride the purple route a couple of times and the wait seemed much longer than I remember. Fortunately we had a rental car and only rode the bus a few times.
