We just got back from WDW. We ate at Yachtsman, Jiko, Biergarten, Narcoosees's, Shula's, Marrakesh and Alfredos. We have been to all of them except for Narcoosee's in the past. I would say we had a great meal every night, of course some better than others. If anyone has any questions, I'd be glad to answer them.

I would love to hear more about Alfredos.

I would love to hear more about Alfredos

Alfredos has always been a favority of ours, but I always tell people I know who are going to go, not to look for things like veal parmigiana. It is the only restaurant that I will eat Fettuchini Alfredo, I love it there, although it is heavy and very filling. Ever since having it there, I don't like it anywhere else. DH likes when they have a veal chop special, but on this past trip he shared the Osso Bocco with one of our son's and they both liked it. My other son had the Tagliolini Alla vodka and liked it. I tasted it and it was good, he aslo had the ceasar salad which I tasted and it was very good. For an appetizer I had the prosciutto with canteloupe and it was very good proscuitto. DH had the Pasta e Fagioli and it was very hearty and thick, good but very filling for an appetizer. One DS had the pastry like chocolate cake (I forgot the name of it) and he loved it. The Canolli's are very good too.

What did you think of the Biergarten? My DW and I are going in Sept. 2007 and this is one of the restaurants that we are on the fence about. Thanks.

I would love to hear your thoughts on Narcoosees's and Marrakesh.
Also, was Narcoosees's a place where you could come from Magic Kingdom in your jeans and just throw a nice sweater on?

Thanks for offering up reviews!!! :)

Biergarten is one of our favorites and we go every trip. My DH will not ever eat in a buffet, but this is th only one that he goes to. He was particularly happy that they have Becks again and no longer have the Lowenbrau. We all (me, Dh and two son's both 14) love the sauerbraten, spaetzle, and potato dumplings. The salads are good, I really like the cucumber salad. The other thing we all get is the bratwurst. One DS really likes the rotisserie chicken and both DS's love the pretzel bread. The desserts are good too, especially the apple strudel and black forest cake. I just learned that the Biergartens pastry chef makes the desserts for the Clam Bake dinner at Cape May's.

The tables are for 8 and they do sit you at a table with other guests, but we have never minded that, and we have never found it to be awkward. Sometimes you talk a little with the other party, and other times you keep to yourselves.

Narcoosee's was really nice, it was the first time we ate there. I was told the dress was business casual, and we came from our resort, so we dressed that way. When we got there some were dressed as we were, some were dressier, and there were a lot of families that were very casual. DH and Ds's had the surf and turf, I had the Maine lobster which I got because the waitress said it was deshelled. the claws and tail meat were in the shell, but it was cut so that you could just pull out the meat, no mess. The surf and turf come with a Caribbean lobster tail, and they all liked their meal. One DS loved the crab cakes and the other loved the mussels for appetizers.

This was the 3rd time we ate at Marrakesh, One DS and I love the Shish Kebab (beef), and DH and the other son like the Chicken Kebabs. We also like the Jasmina salad, and I like the Beef Brewat Rolls. DS tried the Chicken Bastilla appetizer and didn't like it, we all tasted it and agreed. And we all had the Bastilla dessert which was soooo good. I am on a quest for that recipe.

We love Biergarten but aren't planning to do it next trip.. Now you're talking me back into it..... :goodvibes

How was Shula's? What did you get, etc.? We were considering going there this trip.

This was the second time we went to Shula's and it is DS's favorite restaurant. We learned after the first time that we did not need so many sides. One is enough to share with the whole table. But this trip we didn't get any, they give you some marinated mushrooms and some sauteed peppers and onions on the plate with your entree, and that was enough for us. DH got the Cowboy steak which is a 22 oz. ribeye, and he said it was excellent. One DS got the 16 oz. NY strip and said it was great. The other DS and myself got the 12 oz. filet mignon, which was also great. The steaks are cooked exactly to your specifications and they even come out with a flashlight and ask you to cut into the thickest part of the meat to be sure it is cooked right. Three of us shared the Chocolate Souffle which was to die for, it was soooo good. You have to order it when you order your meal as it takes a long time to prepare. One DS had the creme brulee which was lemony and he said it was just OK, (he loves creme brulee).

At YSH did you have or notice any seafood on the menu? And I saw on the menu that they no longer have a spinach salad? What did you enjoy there?

THx!

I am not too much of a seafood eater (only shellfish), there was seafood on the menu, but offhand I don't recall what it was. I don't remember seeing the spinach salad either, I think I would have ordered that if I had, I had it in the past and I know I liked it.

I had the tomato salad and the filet mignon, which was very good. DH had the rib eye, and he liked that a lot. One DS had the NY Strip and the other had the filet mignon, both liked their meals. Thanks! Just reading that is making me hungry. What type of attire do you need to wear there? Just wondering as we'll be travelling with DS11 and his friend who is also 11.

When I made the ADR they said it was business casual. DH wore a jacket, and I wore a dress, DS's wore polo type shirts with docker type pants. But there were people dressed a lot more casually. Most with some type of collared shirt. There was one large group that was very casual. It is Disney so I wouldn't be too concerned. I didn't think that DH needed to wear a jacket, but he wanted to.
