We just returned from a wonderful trip!! (May 19-24) We had a great experience with our resort (Port Orleans Riverside), castmembers were very helpful and the crowds seemed light with the exception of Star Wars Weekends at MGM. My 5 year old now wants to live at Disney and my husband who was reluctant to go now is planning next years trip!!! Two of our favorite memories are riding in the front of the monorail and a "Magical Moment" that happened at Pacos Bills in Magic Kingdom. A cast member came up to my 5 year old and ask if he would like to be sheriff for the day. They made a big deal and announced to the crowd he would be sheriff. They also gave him a certificate, a sheriff badge, a picture to remember the day and a piece of pie (which he shared with mom and dad!) :) . All in all it was a wonderful trip with one exception, Jedi Training at MGM. My son if a huge Star Wars fan and really wanted to to the training. We kept going back both days we were at MGM but he never got chosen. There were several kids who I'm sure experienced the same heartbreak. Each time he would cry a little, so we finally just gave up, I couldn't stand to see him so disapointed when everything else was so wonderful. I think someone needs to rethink how they choose children, maybe even use a fastpass or something so parents don't have to keep going back every hour and kids don't have to be sad each time. We still have many more happy memories than bad ones and didn't let one situation ruin our trip!! :flower:

Just keep repeating - Sheriff is much better than Jedi!

Glad that you enjoued the rest of your trip! :wave2:

our grandkids wanted to be selected one year for the monsters one in MGM ...can't remember what the name was .....but they kept on waving their hands and then one of them said.....guess that they could not see us.....Thanks for your report

oooh thats too bad that he was upset - I've never heard anyone talk about the sherrif though so I hope he knows how special that was

glad to hear theres another trip in the future! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have to tell you I have been seeing red about this experience! We went this past Saturday and encountered the same experience!!!!!! Not only is it heartbreaking to see your kid so sad BUT the adults act horribly!!!!!!! I have been planning on emailing guest services and asking that they retool this "experience" by either adding more villains AND way more kids or fast pass. If many people do this perhaps they will listen.
