Just back - WL and POR.... my thoughts

Spent two nights at WL at the beginning of our trip. We enjoyed our stay, but were not wowed by WL this time around. We also stayed there last year, so maybe it just wasn't a new experience to us. The food court was slow, but the rest of the resort was fine. It was on the most part enjoyable.

POR, on the other hand, was awesome! I had read some bad reports before we left, but we had a great time!

We were in building 16 (AB), room 1640. It was a corner, non-smoking room on the second floor. We loved everything about this room. The food court was maybe a 5 minute walk to refill our mugs. The grounds were gorgeous and we loved walking through the resort. The busses were ok, not bad like many had made it sound, but busy. I would say the bus travel isn't any different from other resorts we have stayed at. All in all, we loved POR and will definitely stay there again, though we may try POFQ next time just to get a smaller resort feel.

Thanks for that - I am booked at POFQ, but I'm trying to work out a Free Dining Pkg, and POFQ isnt available, but POR is!

Thanks for the review. I am glad to hear you liked POR better than WL this time, because we stayed at WL last summer and loved it and are staying at POR this time. I was a little disappointed because we cancelled our POLY reservation and switched to POR to save money, so I am glad to hear it compared favorably with a Deluxe.

We had a similar experience at AKL and CSR this past May. We weren't just bowled-over by AKL like we were during our first stay, but we were incredibly impressed by CSR. Of course, we had a fantastic room/location at CSR. Now, I'm afraid to return to CSR for fear of getting a really poor room assignment and just hating it.

How did you like the rennovated room?

The renovated room was wonderful. It was very colorful and the tile in the bathroom was very nice. I would say the size of the room was very comparable to WL, except WL has a closet in the room while POR has an open closet next to the sinks. Not a big deal at all.

Our kids loved the trundle bed and we loved having the curtain to close while someone was getting dressed in the bathroom area.

If you are lucky enough to get a corner room (we had 1640), they are really well lit and the extra window adds a lot.

Did you notice what the order of the bus stops was? I've read on this board and other places that it's south, west, north, east but then someone posted on this board that they were at POR in May and the bus stopped at the west bus stop first, in the morning, and the south bus stop first in the evening.
