Just Back - What I learned

I can confirm that the Hallowishes and Boo To You Parade mustc is on that CD. Bought it during our last trip in August. Lots of interesting and fun music on that CD.

We bought it too last year. I just started listening it again today to get in the MNSSHP mood!

I would like to hear about the sea raycers too as we are thinking about doing them in October? Did you have a little one with you? We have a 3.5 year old and I think he'll love it. Could 2 adults and a small child fit in the sea raycer, or would only 2 of us be able to fit?

Thanks!

About the CD ~ I thougt last year I read they were selling MNSSHP music at the party only...but you can buy this theme music cd all the time? Can anyone tell me where to get it?

Last year the cd was exclusive to the party. However, once the parties were over, I saw it all the time. I know for sure that I've seen it at the MK Emporium and at World of Disney. It may be at other stores where they have cds, but those two places definitely have it.

Can someone tell me more about the dance parties and villian show. Is it just something we can stop in at? We are going mainly for parade, fireworks and rides and wondering if we should make time for these. Thanks!

I'll write up something for you to read and pm you with it. One Warning though, I love to tell stories so it might be long :)

I wish you'd consider posting that info here! I'm sure a lot of us (me included) would love to read whatever advice you have to say! :)

Glad you had a good time!
How was your flight... any delays or issues?
How was the resort and your meals?
Did you do rides at MNSSHP - if so, which ones and how were the lines?
How did the park feel crowded, medium, etc.
How did the restaurants seem?

Wow lots of questions... Here we go!

Earthfaries: Yes you still can get in at 4pm, don't know about the strollers, I was the youngest one of the two of us at 27 :)

MoreDisneyPlease: I was really hoping too but there is always the store in DTD, unfortunatley that is not free.

Laura's Dad: We played a round at Fantasia Gardens on the Garden course. There are 2 courses there the garden course and the fairways course. Garden course is like a typical minigolf course, putting through windmills and such only this is all themed to the music in Fantasia. The other one is Fairways and is a mini version of one of the real golf courses on property though I don't remember which one. We really enjoyed it. There was no one ahead of us at about 3 or 4 in the afternoon, it was pretty warm as the course was not well shaded and took the two of us who are average mini golfers about 45 minutes to go through. Of course we were taking pictures and laughing way too much, you'll have to keep an eye out for the trip report :) It cost about $12 per adult but you do get a voucher for a free round in your package (if you remember to bring it along :rolleyes1 ) I would reccomend it if you have the time from the parks.

Patsal: Yeah, my bag is probably about 5 pounds, I'll have plenty to munch on for the next few months. I have no idea where the rumors started, some said when they called WDW cast members said it, others said ads in the area said it... I have no idea but at least at the Sept 5 party it was pretty much the same, good, but the same.

shyjade, lugnut33, Daisy D, 5 for WDW, and hall girl: Thansk for the info and links about the CD, this is definetly something I am going to track down. Now I just wish I would have asked BEFORE I got home from WDW :)

1hero2princesses: I love POR! we were in building 85 Magnolia Terrace which is one of the mansion buildings. I was perfectly located right by a bus stop and the mian building. The rooms were great, we each had our own sink and even had a mini fridge! (I had forgotten moderate resorts all do) It was quiet at night, we were second floor on a corner and never had any problems. While at the resort we used the sea raycer rental, used the DTD boat transportation (about 30 min each way but a pretty ride) the main pool (lots of fun with some shade but a little more crowded), and ate at boatwrights (YUM!!!) and the counter service which I can't remember the name of at the moment which also had really good food. The gift shop is one of the biggest I have seen at resorts and if you look at my signature I've been to a few :) All in All I was really happy with POR

Mom2aiden: The sea raycers were fun, it cost $30 for 30 min, $40 for 45 minutes and I forget higher than that. They hold 2 people as long as the combined weight is less than 320 but the more weight you put in the slower they go. With the two of us totaling at about 250 we were being passed by the DTD ferries so it was a "relaxing" pace. The driver is safety clipped in so if they happen to fall out (I have NO idea how this would EVER happen but...) they motor is killed. If you rent from POR you can go up and down the entire Sassagoula river to DTD and back which is kind of a pretty ride. They have you pay when you return the boat and time starts when you leave the harbor area but the up side to this is when we went out I timed us gone for 40 minutes, they only charged us for 30. Not saying this will happen all the time but it was pretty cool for our trip and may happen for others. Just don't forget the sunscreen, even with just 40 minutes on the water I ended up a little pink after putting sunscreen on that morning. It was just the 2 of us (both 27yo) and we had a great time with them. From my experiences babysitting and teaching children I think if your little one likes the water and boats they will LOVE the sea raycers, watching the water patrol, the ferries, other sea raycers. I don't think they would allow all 3 of you in the boat, they are a bit snug. Sara and I are not big people (both are 5'2" or less and total at about 250 pounds) and we had some room to move and look around but I think even adding a 3.5yo in would be tight with the life vests everyone has to wear. The good news is that you can come back to the dock and switch passengers, drivers, etc but it still counts to your time. They do also have little vests for the 3.5 yo that we saw when another family was renting.

Kathy loves pooh: The villians show is a stage show that happens 2-3 times during the party. It is a musical type show and afterwords the villians all come down for pics and autographs. It is a nice show, not a headliner, but I enjoyed watching it entirely one year and just listening from Tomorrowland the other years. The dance parties happen in various locations around the park and are just what they sound like, dance parties. Some have little contest and such and some have a character. Stitch leads one in tomorrowland. The dance parties you can come and go freely as you wish, the villians show is like any other show in WDW, you can leave if you want to but obviously you'd miss part of the show. Think of this one like beauty and the beast in Hollywood studios, no one is going to get mad if you walk out but it is a stage show where you would miss parts if you did. In my opinion, if you have never been to MNSSHP I would definetly watch the parade and fireworks, probably watch the villians show and just walk by the dance parties but that's just me.

I Wish I was at WDW: I'll definetly be posting a full trip report over on the TR board which I'll link to in my sig once I get it going. If you look up my other TRs you can see how much of a story I tell :)

Minmate: Our flights were perfect, direct from MSP to MCO. I thought that having the RNC in town would really mess up the airport but we had no problems what so ever, even convinced NWA not to charge me for my luggage :) The only "complaint" was we had to fly over the reminants of Hurricane Gustav so part of the flight was pretty bumpy but I slept most of the way there so I didn't really care much :). Coming home TS Hannah was already gone and Hurricane Ike stayed in the south so we had smooth sailing until we had to go over some thunderstorms in Iowa but again that was just a little bumpy. POR was great, you can read the reply to 1hero2princesses for more there and my eventual TR. As for food we had the basic dining plan which I highly reccomend. Everything I had was great! There were a few changes to it this year so be sure to hear all of it at check in, one major change is gratituity is NOT included anymore and has to be done seperatly. This was kind of a pain as we accidently stiffed one waitress and had the rest running in circles first charging out the dining credit then the tip seperatly. I think of all the resturants in WDW I have eaten at Spoodles and Tony's get my highest scores. We did several rides during MNSSHP after watching the fireworks. The lines were awesome. We walked onto space mountain, stitch, buss light year, pirates, haunted mansion... We even got to see Space Mountain with the lights on from the TTA (yes I took a video which will be posted soon :) ) I think the longest wait we had all night was 5 minutes which we classified basically as a walk on. The entire trip we had very short lines. Most of our trips have been jun-aug so going in sept the lines and parks seemed really empty. We knew they weren't as eventually Sorin had the usual hour long wait time but if you went into the parks with a plan you could have virtually no wait. We managed to do Sorin, Test Track, and Mission Space ALL as walk ons. Norway, Mexico and the imagination pavillion all were 5-10 minute waits, and we started in Epcot about 10 in the morning that day. The resturants were all really packed as this is the time of free dining so everyone is there but we still had REALLY good service and didn't seem to wait any longer than usual for our food. In once case the main dish came out litterally about 2 minuets after the salad. All of our waiters and waitresses were awesome, we even tried to go back and tip the one waitress we accidently stiffed thinking the tip was still included but the staff there that time looked at us like we were ailens but siad they would try to get it to her for us anyway.

I think that's answers to everyone. Keep an eye out for the Trip report. The pre trip is already posted and the rest will hopefully be following soon.

I wasn't there for MNSSHP, but here is a picture of one of the bags they are offering at the resorts for $10 (with an additional $40 purchase):

I know I'll be getting this. I love it!

I was there 8/30-9/6 as well stayed at POR riverside too and did MNSSHP on 9/5-- agree wasn't crowed at all! great shows - lots of characters and TONS and TONS of candy - all small size - the Girh. choch was given out at the parade and when you exited the park only - each of our bags is at least 5lbs too!!
My only complaint for POR was the mouse keeping-- we were in building 90 oak manor - 2 rooms off the end facing the river - our keeper barley made the beds each day - they were half heartedly done - and TOWELS... okay if you want new towels each day you leave the dirty ones on the floor - which we did - and some had makeup stains on them - but did we get new ones NOPE she would just hang them back up!!! that would really freak me out each night- I can read instr. if I wanted to keep the towels put them on the racks if I want NEW ones put them on the floor-- well I put them on the floor so what was the issue??? It really seemed the room was only done 1/2 heartedly each day which was upsetting.. :confused3
The resort itself though was great - food court could of been cleaned better too though - always tons of dirty tables and no one around cleaning them.
I understand it was busy at times and that is hard to keep on top of - but when it is downtime there should be no issues with that...

Actually, I thought the universal way to display dirty towels is to leave them in the bathtub?? :confused3 I've never heard of leaving towels on the floor...or is it just a Midwest thing? :confused3

the paper on the back of our toilet there said leave them on the floor - now the floor wasn't all that sparkling clean either and any normal person who wanted to reuse the towels sure wouldn't leave them on that floor for the day/night and reuse them.. I can say I have never heard of leaving them in a tub if I want them replaced... my personal thought is I want NEW CLEAN towels everyday that I use one regardless -- but that is just my families way.

Wow, good to know, thanks for pointing that out, or the Mousekeeper may have wondered who the crazy family was leaving dirty towels in the tub! :flower3:

I would hope if you left them in the tub they would know to replace them as well... If they are anywhere other than the towel rack they should give you new clean ones.

Yep, they've always been replaced no matter where I left them (other than the towel rack).

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer our questions and thanks for all the great info! I really appreciate it. Kathy

Thanks for all the great information! We're going to the 10/13 party and I can't wait!!!

That's what I thought too...but, I'm from Indiana so maybe it is just a Midwestern thing?

We did get full size candy bars on the way out last year. The person handing them out was just grabbing a handfull and putting it in your bag:banana: . On the down side they were mini kisses that were covered like a MM. They tasted nasty. Never saw them again, maybe they were testing a new candy?
