Just Back VWL

Just got back on Friday from VWL. Had a wonderful trip. We had a dedicated two bedroom (2552) which was absolutely the best! We were very pleased. I really liked having the dedicated unit. The villa was very clean and showed very little wear and tear. Check in went very smoothly and the staff was wonderful.

Weather was hot and crowds were high, especially at MK, but manageable with Fast Pass. We did take advantage of E-ride which was a lot of fun. Had some rain on and off.

How were the views and could you see the nightly light show, I've only heard about it so I'm not sure what the name of it is, from your balcony?

I think that is the room we had in Dec and it was great! Did the sliding door lock work OK? That is the only thing we had a problem with and they fixed it quickly. Not a problem really.

I hope we get that room when we stay in a 2 bed again. Those kind of accomodations spoil us!!

Just back from our first stay at VWL. It was great. We had Villa 5533 (1 BR) It was a corner unit that had a nice view of the quiet pool. My wife reported that she could also see most of the higher Wishes fireworks. The room was in fine condition, though we did have a problem with the dishwasher.

We started it after supper one night and left for Fantasmic. When we returned our daughter stepped on a "squishy" carpet next to the kitchen. We turned on the lights and found a small trickle of water streaming out of the dishwasher. I called maintainance and they had someone up in about 10 minutes. She confirmed that it wasn't a potential flooding problem (the drain pump had failed and the excess water then slow leaked out the door seal) and said she'd leave a note for he morning crew to fix it. When we returned to our room the next afternoon, the dishwasher had been fixed and they'd dried the carpet... End of problem.

It was a great stay and we're looking forward to our Christmas trip back!

NCRedding - this dedicated two bedroom had two queen size beds. Perfect for my two girls!

tamu91 - We had a woods view. We could not see the Electric parade from our balcony, but just a short walk down to the beach area.

jimmytammy - sliding door worked just fine!

We certainly LOVED the dedicated two bedroom and feel very lucky to have had it. Can't wait for our next stay!

So how was the check-in experience? Did it seem that they had your room pre-reserved, or did it seem more like a "room ready" approach? What time did you check in, and when did you get the room?

Geoff_M....thanks for your comments as well. We have stayed in that same villa and enjoyed it too. Glad to hear that your problem was dealt with quickly and efficiently.

The check in was the same as with a normal check-in at WL... with the addition of "welcome home". There may have been a villa pre-selected for us, but the CM was able to see what was available and picked one for us that she thought we'd like... and we did. We pulled in around 6-7 PM and went straight to the villa after check-in. I spied an internal "Lodge Lore" CM daily newsletter that was besides a cash register a couple of times during the stay and saw occupancy stats for WL and VWL. WL was around 96% full and the Villas were around 98%.

We arrived at about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 13th. Our check in went very smooth. CM VERY helpful. We were originally placed in a non-smoking, first floor villa, even though we had requested a smoking optional villa. CM did some searching and came up with our wonderful #2552! I liked having the balcony vs. the patio. I really do feel fortunate that we were able to get what we wanted because she did say that the villas were just about at capacity. We went right to the villa after check in.
