I was wondering.....maybe since the CM's find it hard & intimidating to confront guests who are misbehaving....how about ALL the people around say something to the troublemakers??? I mean, there is strength in numbers right??? I wonder if the person or people would be cursing us out if EVERYONE in line or wherever spoke up???? Maybe we could spread the word so that you wouldn't be worried about speaking up since you knew that someone would have your back?? I bet a lot of people would stop this rude & disgusting behavior!!

Quite frankly, after spending close to $4000.00 to go to WDW for 4 1/2 days, I don't think I should have to police the wheely smokin peeing people....oh and the baby rear end washing in the drinking fountain people too. It is not my job, it is because of us (guests) paying the high cost of admission that there is still a WDW in the first place.. It is the job of WDW to enforce certain rules to make everyone safe and comfortable.

That 4000.00 of vacation money could have also bought us a beachfront room in Anguilla for a week...

This a good idea. But there is a group of people who have made it clear in other threads such as this that guests are not to 'police' Disney policies. According to them; if a CM doesn't see said violation; then we are to just suffer and put up with it. I'm sure they'll be here soon to reply to your comment.

Well how about I become one of the rude people we are discussing on this thread and just tell them "I DON'T WANT TO PUT UP WITH IT" ;) Why does it not suprise me that they will take on someone "nice" (that's me in case you were wondering :goodvibes ) & not have a problem telling me "to bad, put up with it", but wouldn't take the same approach with someone "not nice".

You are absolutely right!!!!! I honestly don't want to be bothered with it either....but.....we are all on this thread complaining (AND RIGHTLY SO!!) about stuff that goes on there....I was just trying to think of a way to solve it, verses letting people think they can get away with this type of behavior.(Because I honestly don't believe the whole "that's just the way society is these days" statement.)

One of the days of our trip we were walking up the walkway to the AK and there was a CM in front of us - he appeared to be management, he was in his 40's wearing a polo type shirt and had a disney name tag. I noticed him because he came in from the side. he was very nice and saying hello to people. He was in front of us and behind a woman walking around with a lit cigarette. The reason why I remember this is because it would have been his job to point out the no smoking rule to her....but guess what happened....nothing. There were lots of Disney management walking around the parks during our stay. There appeared to be a series of meetings at our resort (CR) as the meetings are posted in the lobby and on the TV. I'm sure what we saw were not isolated incidents. So if what appears to be upper management not caring why should the people that scrimp, save and spend a fortune confront anyone and risk a blowout with a wacko?

What we will most likely do is spend less time going to WDW in the future. We have an upcoming trip in Dec and it may be a while before we return. We are lucky enought to be able to go when and where ever we want, I think WDW has enough of our money for a while.

maybe after a while us rule abiding nice folks will opt out of a WDW vacation and leave it up to the "disgustos" of the world to duke it out for a good pee party in the parks.

Here is my light-hearted Most Shocking Thing!!! When we exited Pinoccio's Village Haus we saw a woman in platforms and a walking cast!!! Can't imagine what would have possesed her to wear heals while in a walking cast!! I bet her feet hurt something killer!

Yes and you can also drink it, but that does not mean you would. However this is a civilized society and since the invention of the toilet and public bathrooms, public urination is not necessary. If a child is no longer in diapers, then and he has to pee, it is up to the parent to teach him to go to a toilet, not against a rock of an attraction in a theme park. The bathroom is a few feet away. Peeing in public is not permitted anywhere. We all know Pee and Poop happen but a sidewalk is not a toilet.
I hope you live long and can enjoy Disney for years to come. When you are in your 90's and are on your last trip and just can't get to the restroom quick enough,(that's only a few feet away) I hope you pee your pants right there on Main St. The only extra Disney Magic needed is for that little boy to be there on the same day and laugh and roll his eyes at you. Oh yeah, Then he needs to come to the disboards and post a snobby list of all the things people did to upset him on his trip make a special note of the lazy old lady who couldn't make it to the bathroom-picture included.

Unfortunately, the parks are probably only seeing $$$, and who ever they get it from won't matter......and on that note......I'm not giving up MY DISNEY for nothing!!!!!!! And I certainly don't believe stuff like this happens all the time. I have had the most wonderful magical trips to Disney, and I intend on having many more!!!! You really have to not let a few bad apples spoil the bunch!!!

There is really something seriously wrong. I think your 2 posts speak for themselves. I would report your post but I think people need to see what kind of person you really are, "Disney Dad"

Yeah but the difference is that she wouldn't be pulling her pants down in front of everyone on Main St., nor would she have someone standing with her telling her that it was ok to do so!!!!!!!!! THERE'S A DIFFERENCE!!!!!!

Getting back to the original post, thank you for speaking up. We go for 2 weeks in the summer and this year we too saw smoking and butts everywhere (especially on the grounds of our beloved ASMo) :confused3 and grown adults simply BERATING very small children because they're hot, tired, and should be back in the room napping. I can only shudder how these parents treat their kids in private if that is how they treat them in public. My DS-18 and DD-16 just can't believe it. I hope folks continue to read these posts and understand that you can't do it all in one trip. You can't do it all in 25 trips. Take your time, listen to your family's "cues" and just enjoy all you can at your family's pace. There is something for everyone but no-one can do everything :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Oh please, report me to the disagreement police.
If you want to post your opinion on a message board expect people with different points of view to answer. I think my posts will stand up to the most strict censors around. I mean really- I post what I think. I think you should be more understanding of little kids at WDW.- Pretty simple you don't know certain people health issues etc., and you a very confident that everyone that intrudes on your space should be able to control all bodily function at all times. Don't tell me that you have never passed gas at a inappropriate time??? I just think that if the tables are turned on you-being place in a situaition of vulnerablility- you might have a different view. That is the point, I wished you no phyical harm, just a little of the embarassment that the little boy felt and that I am sure you did your best to make worse.

So the difference to you is pulling down his pants? When a little kid has to pee they have to pee. You can go to the bathroom and make them try to go every hour on the hour, but that doesn't always work 100% of the time. GOOFY just walks up and sees this happen. Gross, indecent, not polite? Yes, all of the above, but don't think for a minute that you and your family are so much better than these people. You just haven't been in the exact same situation. When in the situation your choice is pee your pants or pee on the rock(period). I said I would pick the rock. You and GOOFY so how think there was another choice. I don't see it and wouldn't judge. That's all.

one in each earlobe for a female is one thing, but 6 on one ear, or piercings on the nose, tong, bottom lip constitutes trash in my opinion.

WOW!!
First, smoking does not make you trash. Unhealthy, yes, trash no. If they lit up on the ride there was not much the Cms could do, unless you wanted them to stop the ride? Second, people with tattoos and piercings are not all trash either. Just like people without them are not all trash. Disney does have a dress code but I hope never to see the day that people with piercings or tattoos are not allowed in the parks. After all my ears are pierced, so I am trash, right? Or is it only some piercings you object to? Maybe Disney can have the piercing police and you can be the first member of the team. ::cop:

If I didn't dislike sweeping statements I might say that people who spend their park time worrying about what others look like are all stuck up, snobbish loosers who never have any fun anywhere. But I won't. :snooty: Becuse I am not.

I'm thinking that name calling , such as "trash", is probably not related to the original point of this thread. I believe it was 'shocking things" seen at WDW. I don't believe it was name calling.

I'm all for different points of view, but I think we can probably make our points without name calling and generalizations.

Thats just my two cents though. :rolleyes1

yer kidding me right? Didn't yer momma teach you better than that? Or do you come from a long line of close minded individuals who think they are better than everyone that isn't exactly like them? I really hope your kidding. And if you're not; I feel very, very sorry for your kids and anyone who happens to have to make contact with you.

Amen brother. Wife, Daughter and I feel exactly the same way.

Yeah, I'm for that too. As you can see, in my responses to him, I will not lower myself to his level and resort to calling him names. I'll just continue to feel sorry for him and his family. May they continue to eternally be better than me....

My blood is boiling so bad right now that I am going to take a good couple of hour break from the DisBoards; lest I be banned for really speaking my mind about sportears. Carry on for now.

Excuse me, but public urination is against the law, not WDW law THE law. Even older people that cannot reach the bathroom in time know this....have you ever heard of adult diapers??? Parents that allow this kind of behavior are just teaching them to be rude disgiusting people like themselves. I think a 5 year old child is big enough to hold it in for 20 feet. Sorry but the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Furthmore I think your posts are off topic and boorish. It has nothing to do with disagreeing, it has to do with common decency. Yes, everyone farts, pees, craps, sweats, pukes and clips their toe nails. There is a time and a place for it and it is up to parents to teach their children about decency. I know you're the kind of guy that thinks it's funny to fart in a crowded plane or elevator. The thing that seperates you from others is called class, and you don't have any.

By then time I am 90 I will be far far away from WDW for about 30 years. Most likely Maui. Since my DH and I are already retired at 45, I figure we can stick out another 15 New York winters. I will not be "peeing my pants" (as you so put it) either, but it sounds like you are already, and really don't mind it.

The problem is that Disney is into passive enforcement of rules and guidelines. They post them in the handouts at the parks, in the check in materials at the resorts, on signs at the parking lots and pools, on thier website etc.

As to compliance it is left up to the guest to be responsible enough to comply. There is the problem. There is an ever growing segment of society that can not and will not police themselves. Unless someone makes them behave, they have convinced themselves the rule is not important and therefore ignore it.

It is a very sad situation. I would recommend that everyone that finds this currect situation unacceptable to write Disney and let them know, that is the only hope of getting it changed.
