Got back very late last night from our christmas trip and thought I would do the traditional highs and lows of our trip!
In one word it was amazing! Christmas in disney is sooooo magical it was unbelievable.

Highs

The Park at Christmas - just breathtakingly beautiful especially in the dark, took may breath away every time! The castle, the tree, the snow, everything!

Walts - we ate here for Christmas lunch and were given a private room with a massive round table, Xmas tree and windows out to Main Street. Treated like royalty and watched the Xmas parade go past. Was amazing!

Magic Circus Hotel - we loved it here, no problems at all. We had a kids suite and it was massive with a lounge area, separate kids room and so much space. Loved the theming and breakfast was fab too.

Wild West Show - we did this Xmas day and loved it! The whole thing was brilliant and a great way to spend a couple of hours. We were all really impressed.

The weather - after worrying about this and packing thermals, waterproofs and snow boots we had not one drop of rain and the weather was so mild we could have done without coats let alone thermals! Even at midnight we were out and it wasn't cold at all. We were so pleased as it made so much difference not being cold all day or wet! :worship:

Dreams - this is an obvious one to those who have seen it but there aren't even words to describe it. We watched it Xmas day with VIP viewing area which was amazing as there were about 15 people so had so much room. The rest of the parkw as packed so really appreciated this. It bought a tear to my eyes a few times and I watched the whole thing in complete awe. Disney should be soooo proud of this amazing show. :lovestruc

Lows

Crowds - I know I know it's christmas holidays and I should of expected it but it was soooooo busy, the queues were awful and we didn't get on many rides at all. The evenings were better but after dreams the crowds trying to leave the parks were horrorific.

Shuttle buses - last time we stayed at Davy Crockett and drove but this time we wanted to not have to use the car. We found the buses very convenient and a quick and easy way to get to the parks. No problems in the day but after the park closed there were so. Many people waiting and trying to crowd onto the buses. Every single night there were massive rows and slanging matches. Was horrible and we kept well away and waited for the next bus. There was no way I was getting my children crushed and having to listen to that for the sake of 20 minutes

Sleep! - or lack of it! Was so difficult to see everything as we wanted to get to the park for EMH then stay for dreams at 10 which meant such a long day for the kids who didn't get to bed until gone midnight each night. They were so tired and thIs impacted on their behaviour too and resulted in some mini meltdowns!

That's it! I have to say Christmas Day didn't feel like Xmas day at all and it was amazing but we wouldn't go away over Xmas day again. I felt like this trip the boys didn't feel the magic as much and I spent a lot of time with Rhianna doing girly things and the boys going off to ride the rollercoasters. We have decided the next trip will be a girly trip just me and Rhianna (she's nearly 5) and fingers crossed staying in the disneyland hotel...eeeeek! Bit apprehensive about going on our own but thik it will be great fun! She's only in reception at school so happy to go in school time to avoid crowds!!
Can't wait to plan!

Sounds like a great trip :goodvibes

and you got lucky as Sat it chucked it down all day and yesterday evening, all through the night and a bit today :lmao: I'll agree with the warmth though as I was out in just a t-shirt and sweatshirt on Christmas day.

Would love to see any photos :goodvibes

We were so lucky with the weather, was dry strange as was expecting it to be so cold and wet. The rain started as we drove home yesterday!
I bought an album out there that holds 100 thinking I'm sure I didn't take many photos but got home and realised I took 600 odd :rotfl: think I may need another album!! Will sort out a few photos, I could easily just go to disney to take pictures as its one of my favourite hobbies!

Ooh forgot to say we got our annual passes and love all the discounts especially in the shops!getting them was awful though as the queue was ridiculous, we literally spent the whole of the first day queuing to get them!
Also due to the crowds we didn't get to see Santa :sad1: as was 2 hours all the time as was mickey and the princess pavilion so I do feel like we didn't actually do much but still had an amazing time.
Our middle child is 8 and went on his first upside down rollercoaster this trip (rock n roller coaster) and Rhianna rode her BTM for the first time and they both loved it!

Glad you had such a great time :goodvibes

We had that room on Saturday evening ::yes:: It was lovely, wasn't it. Everyone thought I had arranged it specially! But it was pure luck - I hadn't even bothered to asked for the possibility of a window table.

Yep, we were there! Luckily it had just about stopped for our walk into the park for said meal at Walt's, and we were able to enjoy Dreams afterwards as well.

Wow :faint: That's a lot to go through. I find now I spend most of my time in the park looking at the details and taking photos rather than doing the rides :)

The AP queues were already manic on the weekends in Nov/Dec and I thought they would get worse once schools had broke up :rolleyes2

Well at least now you've got it and can make great use of it on your next trips. I think a girly trip sounds fab :goodvibes

We didn't ask for a window table either as we were a bit late for our reservation anyway, was so lovely especially not having to worry about the kids bothering anyone else!

Welcome back :wave2: glad you had a great time (and you too, Bexx) :goodvibes

The room at Walt's sounds lovely. pixiedust:

We've spent Christmas away twice now - once at DLP and once at WDW and although I find there is something very magical about waking up at Disney on Christmas morning it also seems very surreal. I doubt we'll ever do it again :confused3 but I quite fancy the idea of NYE at DLP one year. ::yes::

Welcome back, sounds like you had a lovely trip:thumbsup2
