I just wanted to make a quick post to thank mom2of2 & rileygirl for their hard work to keep the swap going and make it a success.

When we arrived at CSR on the 16th the stroller was there waiting for us-thanks Hayes family!. While we didn't use it as much as I thought we would since DS is getting older ( 6 1/2 yo but thin as a stick-lol!), it was definitely helpful for those late nights! We left it with the front desk at the BC yesterday for the Lambert family.

The stroller is still in great condition and there are lots of goodies in the huge back that accompanies it. We left behind a LIME GREEN Squeeze Breeze Mister Fan, some Tide laundry detergent tablets, some fabric softener sheets and a little surprise for the next family. I was going to leave behind some suckers--but I found them in my suitcases this morning-sorry!

A couple of things that others might want to know about the stroller--it folds really easily for the buses and the stroller itself has some nice comfy padding. The canopy was undone when we got it from the front desk but it is easily popped back into place. The bag that accompanies the stroller is pretty full so be prepared if you are swapping the stroller with someone at a park or someplace that you will be walking around alot--the bag doesn't fit in the underbasket of the stroller and is not "attached" to the stroller so you would be carrying it around. We found that it worked best to either meet or leave it at the hotel of the next swapper with their name on it.

A couple of suggestions for those who are going down to use it soon--these are things that might be good for the bag--a bungee cord or some type of cord that would attach the supply bag to the stroller for when it is left with baggage services--maybe this would be a good idea?? Also there aren't any markers to make up the scrapbook pages--I wrote mine in pen so if you have any you would want to leave with the stroller that would fun too! There wasn't any green ribbon left so that would be helpful.

There are lots of scrapbook materials, alphabet stickers and other stickers. Lots of McDonalds coupons, character meeting spot sheets, LOTS of lime green mickey heads from Home Depot, about 6 bags of animal crackers, chips, etc... plus what I mentioned that I left. I'm sure I am forgetting something but cannot remember anymore.

ANYWAY--thanks again to all who are doing this, it worked out great.

But mom2of2 you are going flame me--I forgot to take our pic with the stroller with the camera-ugh! I'm checking my digital pics right now though & hoping there is at least one in there!

If I knew how to do a flaming smilie face I would!!! How DARE you NOT take a pic!!!! Did you not read the rules!!!!?? LOL!!!!

Anyway I am so happy that you had a good experience with the SS!! It's always nice to hear that a swap went great.
Thanks also for your kind words about the SS, it wouldn't work at all if it wasn't for the swappers and sitters that take care of our DIS baby every single day. Think about how cool it really is that for the past 124 days the stroller has been with a member of the DIS!!! Well actually 21 members of the DIS!!!
Thanks again for the update and I will ask upcoming swappers for some help with supplies!!!!

with pixie dust and honey hugs!!!

I'm so glad to read the swap is still going strong!

I'm surprised all the lime green ribbon is gone, I left a roll in early May and I think there was one already in the bag. The stroller must be looking quite green by now!

Thanks for the update welovedis. :D  :D

I was surprised to hear the ribbon was gone too..there was so much of it when we sat early on.
If you need us, we are available to sit Sept 9-16th.

Wow, I'm surprised it was gone too! There are bunches of ribbons on the thing, but not *that*many. Perhaps it got misplaced? I did look thru everything but maybe I missed it--would be kind of hard to miss though!

Another thing I thought of with the rainy season upon us would be a poncho or 2 for someone to leave with the stroller. That way the stroller would be protected from the rain--we used our poncho to cover it up during the rain when we were there but it was a cheapie one!

PS--Still looking for a digital pic of the stroller, I feel so bad! It is in a shot that I took in our room at CSR, just click the link below my sig line.

Anyway--thanks again to everyone, we will be happy to sit anytime during our next trip (Jan 7th--18th 2004) or if need be, bring another stroller to donate!

I thought there were poncho's at one time..but if they got used, they prob wore out : (

How is the shape of the stroller? How's it holding up?

The stroller seems to be in good shape, looks about the same as when I saw it in mid-May, when shovelhd & family were using it.

The seat cover needed a cleaning, so I washed it and hung it to dry in our room. Overall it seems to be in really good shape and doing fine with the usage.

I figured that the ponchos might have gotten used and then thrown out if there were the cheapie kind (like I buy-lol). I figured I would add some of the "official" Mickey kind when I go down there as they last longer and might offer more protection.

HTH!

Very curious - what exactly is the stroller swap?
Thanks in advance,
Mo

By the way, KathleenFL has added to the pics on the SS thread.

We are still waiting for more pics from you SS peeps! So go through your vaca photos!!!
