DW and myself just got back from a whirlwind 3 night stay at SSR. This trip was kind of a last minute lark. We had not planned on going again until Christmas but our AP's expire in June plus SW had some really cheap rates, so we figured why not. This was our second time staying at SSR and we really like the resort alot. We were in the Grandstand section right next to the pool. Our room was in fine condition, no complaints at all. In fact, there wasn't a whole lot to complain about for the three days really. Some general comments though -
1) Buses - we never really had any major bus complaints. They did seem to run in strange patterns though. One morning we saw like 3 MK buses come by before we saw an Epcot. One evening it seemed to take a long time to get back from Epcot, but DW pointed out that clockwise it really wasn't that long, it just seemed like it was.
2) Free Internet - sorry but I left my laptop at home and didn't get around to getting a travel router, so didn't get to try it out.
3) Artist Point - we had breakfast there this morning but agree the organization leaves a lot to be desired. It seemd to be very congested and unorganized IMO. I much prefer Mara at AKV.
4) Being next to the Grandstand Pool was nice because we could refill our mugs there. One night they even left the refill station open all night long even after the pool closed.
5) We found the path that goes to DTD Westside and it made for a really nice little walk.
6) The ME bus this morning was absolutely packed, but we got to the airport in plenty of time. I had checked in with SW yesterday afternoon on my cell phone, so all I had to do was print off our boarding passes at the airport. Going thru security took hardly any time at all.
7) Crowds were not bad. In fact yesterday evening at MK and even Monday at Epcot the crowds were light IMO. We ate at Tepan Edo at Epcot for dinner on Monday and didn't even need a reservation. I was very surprised. It was amazing we basically did everything we wanted to do in four theme parks in just two days and didn't rush at all. In fact yesterday afternoon we sat out by the pool for a nice long time.
8) We liked SSR just fine but I still think I prefer DVC resorts that are part of a Deluxe Resort best like VWL and AKV (I guess that is why we have points at those resorts).
Well that's about it. We have HH coming up in two weeks. Really looking forward to that. Any questions?
