Arrived 12/18 and our first stay at WL...while the resort itself is beautiful and amazing, the crowds were working against us and we sadly did not receive a bunk bed room, and were placed on the smoking floor in order to keep our woods view. The CM at check-in was aggitated over something and kept calling somewhere to talk about our ressie...we even expressed that we would pay to upgrade to a courtyard view for a bunkbed but none available. We had surprised DD with this resort so it was still a blast. Once we realized we were in a smoking room we tried again, but SOL.We were only there for 4 nights so it was not a big deal as our location was very cool w/a view of MK foreworks and monorail and CR thru the trees and enjoyed our balcony...close proximity to Roaring Forks and pool, Overall, this resort was very beautiful for the Christmas holiday and especially with the cold snap Fl was having, we enjoyed it. I had not mentioned to our kids about the towel animals tho, and good thing as they did not make any while we were there, and yes, we tip mousekeeping very nicely, daily. I again, figured this was due to the amount of guests in the resort, no time for towel animals?
The Dolphin went much smoother, comp upgrade to a balcony room w/ resort view of MGM and the grotto pool! We could see the tree f life at AK and the new Expedition Everest ride under construction, TOT and the Osborne lights...turn down service, all was top notch for our second time there. Only bummer is the lack of a microwave and toaster at Tubbi's Buffeteria..but Concierge did an awesome job of getting us every food ressie we asked for and since it was so cold out DS loved the indoor hot tub in the health club.
I will post more later, but both resorts are worth staying at...but for our experience on this trip the Dolphin def. out did themselves making us happy...even waved the $20 fridge fee to have maid service empty it so you can use it...so it was free jsut like the WL. I truly think the WL is beautiful with so much to do there, and the $25 bucket of chicken and biscuts from Trails End is a steal!

Pam~ So glad to hear your trip went well. And...your Dolphin stay was the best! :D

So glad it all worked out. We are booked at the Dolphin in March, but was wondering what the difference is between Dolphin and Swan? Is one quieter than the other? Better bedding? Can't figure out the difference.... thanks!

SuzanneMcC...While we have never stayed at the Swan, I do know that the Swan has 2 Q beds while the Dolphin has Delux Doubles. We have a Q at home and really, we did not notices any difference in the size, most likely due to the fact that they are so comfortable and truly heavenly as they are named! :cloud9: The rooms at the Swan have a bit different counter/coffeemaker area if I remember right, there are pictures at ALLEARS.NET of the resorts/parks etc. It is a great sight for help in planning a trip. The Dolphin has the laundry facilities and is adjacent to the Grotto pool and also has more rooms in its building. We noticed all the new hallway carpeting and wallpaper in the halls this trip, looks so nice. I am sure the Swan is also completed with their refurbishment. Thw swan is a few steps closer to the boat dock and bridge to the Boardwalk, and both offer great views of the parks. Have a great stay in March, I know we loved our stay again this time. The parks were extremely crowded in my opinion, or maybe I just can't handle them very well anymore....but I enjoy just being at the Swolphin Resort for all it has to offer.

Welcome back Finfan! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay!
