Just back from trip and had a FP for Jungle Book!!!! First started out very very poorly run from the start and trying to just line up. No organization or instructions of where to line up at 8:30 just a mass of people all the way back by KR/ maharajh trail with people just blending into line. Started late getting line moving, more people just merging into line. they had FP scanner but no one was paying any attention to anyone just people pouring in and when questioning a CM told to just chill... THEN the show. worst thing I have ever seen at Disney. Have you ever felt like"when is this going to end so I can get out of here?" The music was repetitive , and the pictures on water were awful and blurring and i had no idea of what was going on. Oh there were 7 in our party mix old to teenagers NO ONE like it.

I agree with you that it's the worst production they have ever done. And you would think by now they would know what they are doing as far as line up goes, but it's obvious the Cast are clueless. I hope they get it together before Rivers of Light opens.

I've heard mixed reviews, but honestly it doesn't appeal to me--and I enjoy Indian music (based on the YouTube clip it sounds like that's whats it mostly is.) I doubt I'd avail myself of the opportunity. I prefer the original animated Disney Jungle Book movie.:earsboy:

I attended the show two weeks ago with a very open mind. I can honestly say it is not something I would want to sit through again. I found it to be repetitive and lacking in story line (I have seen the new movie). It was hard to see the dancers and musicians around the heads in front of us, too. There are definitely more entertaining ways to spend the evening at AK!

I actually enjoyed the singing and dancing in the show, but I agree with the above that it was hard to see the dancers and musicians. I don't know if it was the positioning of the barges or the spacing of the rows in the theater, but I felt that was the worst part of the experience. We all seemed to be on top of each other in the seating area. We had passes from the dining package and had no issue with entering at that entrance. Thought the entertainers all did a fantastic job!

I have a fastpass booked for this for our August trip. For those who have seen the show - what was the attendance like? I'm just wondering if I should get a FP for something different, and not waste one on this show (even though we will go see it) if the crowds/interest is low.

Very little at DAK that generally needs a FP, so you can decide with attractions for which you want to use them.

When we were there about 4 weeks ago, the crowd was pretty big. We got a FP+ because it was a brand new show, we didn't know what to expect, and we didn't want to miss it. In retrospect, your FP+ is better used elsewhere. You can still get a seat and as has been said, the show isn't all that great. I don't think it was flat awful, but on a 1-10 scale, it's about a 4 in my book. Don't plan to see it again...though I suspect by time we return next summer it'll be long gone.

We love the show! Liked it better the 2nd time around.

No matter where you sit, you will see parts of the entertainment. But not a perfect view of the entire show.

First time, we had a great view of the main barge/stage and a lousy view of the water screens. The last time we went, I had a perfect view of the water screens and was surprised by the clarity, but I could only see a tiny part of the main barge so missed all the lead vocals.

If you don't like musical theatre, bollywood type music, dancing, and the new Jungle Book movie then you won't like the show.

RoL is now three months beyond the initial opening date, right? Any guesses on the over/under? I jokingly told my wife that I hope it's up in time for our trip, next May. Ha ha....I mean, right? Next May? Ha! It will totally be open by, um, then. Heh...um, uh, right? :worried:

No idea. You might want to check out the Rumors of Light thread on the community subforum. Great and friendly bunch of posters anxiously awaiting RoL.

Saw reports of floats being tested this past week and that Jungle Book is supposed to close in September to make way for RoL. But I could be wrong as I haven't been keeping up with the topic recently. The folks on the official RoL thread and the rumors of light are much more on top of it.

Are the screams from Everest noticeable in the show? And I guess conversely, does the show affect the Everest ride experience?

Oddly, me and my family had this reaction when we saw the Studio version of Fantasmic, too! I tried it twice, same reaction, and family only once, because they hated it more than me. (I love the DL Fantasmic).

I have no plans to see the JB show, which is a shame in some ways because I loved the original movie and the new recent live action one. thanks for the reviews, OP and others on this thread.

I didn't hear Everest or screaming.

I haven't rode EE in years. Sorry.

The wait was 10 minutes when we were waiting to go into the show, around 10pm.

That is disappointing for you. We loved the show. Saw it twice on our trip and could go again. Loved the dancing and music. First time we sat in stand by section, wasn't that great of a view but still liked it and the second time sat in Fastpass and were in the 2nd row and it was great.

Well it would only be 13 months late, so there's at least a slim chance. ;)
