Hi! My girls and I (dd8 & ddalmost 6) just got back last night. We had a wonderful trip! The big news is we were able to ride Soarin' in Epcot as a cm test run... It was sooooooooooooo fun! Everyone cheered and clapped when it was over! From the youngest rider to the oldest it was a huge hit! It wasn't the least bit scarey or dizzy causing. We were in the front row. My dd's both loved it. My only complaint was it was pretty cold in there. I would highly recommend this ride for everyone! My guess is it is going to be a huge sucsess.

We saw Cinderellabration! I cried! It was a very nice show! We ended up near the very front of the castle on the left side walking up just two minutes before the show. My girls loved this show and it was a perfect precursor to our 11:20 ps at CRT!!! I would classify this show as not to be missed. I got some spectacular pics. I can try to post some when my ds gets home b/c I haven't a clue how to do it!

There were many times we were able to walk right onto rides during our 6 day stay. We used fast past maybe on six rides TOTAL during our trip! We did find that It's Tough to Be a Bug is very loud and the front rows are not the greatest for smaller children.

If you have any questions about a particular ride or "fright factor" for your trip with kids ask away!!

Sounds like you had a great time. Will soarin be open at the end of May? We will be there may 24th to the 30th. How many times do they do the new show cinderellabration? Thanks for the info! :flower:

All the new attractions officially open on May 5th, which is the start of the year-long celebration of Disneyland's 50th anniversary.

Have a great time!! :Pinkbounc

Hi! Ithink the castle show is on about 6 times a day. When you get to the park be sure to pick up one of those times guide flyers that they have by the maps. It will show all the times for that day on it. And yes, they said that Soarin will be fully operational by May 5th so you shouldn't have any problems getting to ride this great attraction. Have so much fun!!!

Glad you had a great time, thank you for sharing. :wizard: :goodvibes :flower:

You said you had 11:20 PS for CRT. Are they doing the character meal for lunch there yet? Or hasn't it started yet? Just curious! Thanks!

Thanks for the report! This show is number one of our list of 'things to do' in June! We can't wait to see it.

We rode Soarin in California, and it is really fun. I hope we can ride it in June at WDW, but if we don't make it, at least we have done it in California.

Did you see the stunt show at MGM? That is second on our list of 'things to do' in June.

Sounds like a great trip! I am sure it is going to be VERY crowded when we go in June (and very hot). We will probably be depending on Fast Passes a lot.

How high does the 'Soarin' ride take you above the screens? My girlfriend is deathly afraid of heights, so I dont want to take her on this if its going to be going up that high. I had heard something to the tune of being 30 feet above the screen, which would be too much.

I saw the Stunt show at MGM and thought it was awesome! It will definitely be a huge hit. Its amazing how good these drivers are that they never hit each other, and its an experience I've never been able to see anywhere else. I would have to say it might have been my favorite part of the last trip.

We saw the stunt show while they were practising during our backlot tour. It was really cool. My girls were not interested in going to the actual show so I missed it. CRT will start the lunch but I'm not sure when. We had one of the last ps' for the breakfast of the day. It turned out to be a great time to eat there. I did notice that they were taking walk ups at CRT!

I really didn't notice how far above the screen we were. I can't imagine that it was 30 feet. My guess would be we were maybe 10 to 12 feet off the floor. My dd8 is afraid of heights and this never bothered her AND we were in the front row. I think your friend would be fine on this ride. It really does feel like you are gliding through the air. There were times we lifted our feet so we wouldn't hit the trees or the ocean - very cool ride. It isn't hurky-jurky at all. I would suggest she try it. If she gets frightened she could close her eyes and just enjoy the gentle motion.

1) We just made ressies for CRT at 1:00 p.m. for a character lunch . . . June 28th. They told me there was no guaruntee of which characters would be there. Who is typically there?

2) Where exactly do we find the times/locations for charcters appearances and shows in the MK? :wave2:

Thanks! Amy

I have a question about Soarin'

Is that any part of the ride that is dark? Like in the beginning before the
screens come on or anything? If so, for how long?

I think my 5 year old will love it, but she won't go in if it is dark.

So, I take it the parks weren't that crowded? Is that correct? We are going for our yearly pilgrimage in 2006 two weeks after Easter (so it would be the same as this last week was for you). I am trying to guage how busy it will be? Any thoughts? Glad you had a wonderful trip!

there is one brief part of Soarin' where it's dark, it's just as you take off, and land. That's it. Everything else is amazingly beautiful. if you're like me, you'll probably lift your feet in a few places. It truly is a wonder.

And for the person who asked. The floor is about 10 feet beneath you if you're in row 3, 20, in row 2 and 30 in row 3. The screen is a concave screen that is out in front of you and somewhat curved under. Not at all bad. VERY thrilling.

I can't really answer your questions directly but wanted to tell you that the CMs say the info about no guarantee of which character(s) for every character meal. Kind of a CYA thing ;)

It seems like the usual characters at CRT are Cinderella, Belle, Mary Poppins, Aurora, and Snow White. They were there when we went last year, and they are all in most of the pictures I have seen of other peoples visits.

Thanks for sharing. It sounds like you had a wonderful trip.

As for Soarin' Is it like Peter Pan where you are riding above things and moving while attached from the top? Or is it virtually reality type ride, where the scenery is moving and you aren't?

Also I don't understand

The floor is about 10 feet beneath you if you're in row 3, 20, in row 2 and 30 in row 3. The screen is a concave screen that is out in front of you and somewhat curved under. Not at all bad. VERY thrilling.

Could someone please explain?

Thanks :teeth:
