First off, thank you to everyone with the great sites covering CSR. You sharing info helped make our trip great.
Well, we had a great time during our long weekend at CSR. It was our first visit to the resort. We were given room 7140 in Ranchos 7A. We checked in early @ 9:00 AM with the plan of just leaving our car in the front lot and catching a bus to MK. The CM told us our room was ready if we wanted to stop there before going to MK. We thought, "Yes!! Let's check it out." Drove over to Ranchos and found our room. Well, it hadn't even been touch yet by housekeeping, so we decided to just catch the bus over to MK.
We returned to CSR @ 7:00 PM. We decided to go to the Pepper Market for dinner. We decided to walk.....we were very tired and wished on the return trip that we had driven. It's a nice pleasant walk, but when you are tired, it seemed like a million miles away. LOL My 11 DS thought his bed was great. My DH and I felt like we were sleeping on the ground..too firm. We have a pillow top mattress and missed the soft feel. On Saturday morning, we drove over for breakfast rather than walking. I'm going to skip the rest of our stay at CSR since others have done such a great job highlighting the pros and cons.
A few weeks ago I asked everyones help on getting to the Poly for the Luau. We didn't really want to drive. Getting to the Poly was easy. Jumped on a bus to MK, then took the monorail to Poly. From our room to the Poly....took about 30 minutes. BUT, on our return trip, it took almost 1 1/2 hours. The luau ended just as the fireworks began at MK. We all stood and watch the beautiful show in the sky. Didn't even think that MK would be emptying about the time we exited the monorail to get on a bus back to CSR!!!
As we stood in a huge...long snaking line to catch the bus, we watched bus after bus arrive for PO and OKW. One 2 buses came the first 45 minutes we stood in line. People, including my DH were beginning to become very vocal! Finally, the two CMs directing people to the correct lines, realized a mutiny was beginning to form. Some were going to hijack the next bus to pull up no matter it's destination. They called for reinforcements. Within 5 minutes three buses arrived.
We finally arrived back to our room @ 11:45 pm. Many of us in line realized, too late, that we should have caught a bus to one of the other parks or DD, then catch one back to CSR. Live and learn! LOL
