We came back late Tuesday night from an amazing stay at the Poly. Dh ran the marathon and picked the Poly so he could monorail it to the start. I had wanted to stay here since I was little. It was going to be a nice splurge. We have stayed at AKL and WL and loved those resorts as well.

Well, we got to the resort via ME and I went to the checkin desk (no line) and gave them my name and info. I had booked a GV room but before she told me what building I asked if my sister was going to be close to me. She said yes in the next room. Then she said you can go to building five and they will check you in there. It is much nicer. I kind stood there thinking what is building five? Then it hits me and I say what is the name of the building and she says Hawaii!! I turned to my Dh and tried not to squeal! Both rooms had been upgraded to concierge!!:woohoo: :yay:

Well we walked over to Hawaii kind of stunned and we checked in. Let me say it took about two seconds to get use to concierge! My twins and niece loved running in and out of there getting snacks. The juice was fabulous and it was great to have fresh fruit and veggies. I think if I were to choose concierge or dining plan I would pick concierge simply because it worked out so well. We had the dining plan also and ended up cancelling a couple of dinners since we weren't too hungry.
I can't say a single thing was not pleasant at the Poly or the trip. We ventured to Capt. Cooks twice once for dinner and once for Tonga Toast. It wasn't confusing or crowded either time.
We took the bus to DHS and we saw one drive away while we were walking to the stop and within 5 minutes another one came and took us straight there. We walked to the TTC to catch the AKL bus. It was fine as well. I wouldn't hesitate to wait at the Poly bus stop.
If you have any questions I be happy to answer if I can.

Wow! That is great! I would have been above :cloud9: I  the Poly!

upgraded to concierge on our last visit as well. what's not to love. If we ever get to stay duluxe again, the $100 or so more a night for club level is definitely worth it for us.

We arrive tomorrow and I JUST CAN'T WAIT!!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

I wouldn't mind and upgrade for a MK view! My DD would LOVE it. She just is so amazed at "Astles" She's 3 and still can't pronouce it! SO CUTE! :cutie: She knows the "Incesses" live there!

So glad you had a wonderful time!!!!

Hope you have a wonderful time Veals_Family!! We're right up the road from you in Cumberland....bet you can't wait to leave the snow!! :)

What a wonderful and exciting surprise! If that ever happened to me, I don't think I'd be able to contain myself. I'm always as happy as can be just returning to the Polynesian! Less than 3 weeks again now! :)

Question for you..where did you catch the AKL bus at the TTC? I didn't think you could take buses from the TTC directly to the resorts.

Kingdom. Oddly we saw busses that went from DHS to EPCOT. I thought that park buses only went to the resorts not any of the Parks. Sorry for the confusion.

Had you requested anything when you made your reservation? We are going in two weeks and I didnt request a specific longhouse do you think I should? We have 3 young kids- and for part of the time my dad will be there and he doesnt walk well. Any thoughts?

We were there last year and got pixie dust upgraded too. I can't image a more fabulous way to start your stay at the Poly than getting that news!

We requested a king bed and that the room be ground level for a scooter. We were also celebrating a birthday during our stay.

I still can't believe our luck!

Wonderful news about the upgrade! And glad to hear you enjoyed the Poly. :cloud9:

we only had requested Tokelau since we wanted to in the central area. I think upgrades really just happen. They probably had two GV in Hawaii empty for the five nights we were there. We were also upgraded at AKL two years ago from standard to pool view. We went with my sister and she had paid for pool view. We do always link our rooms together with CRO.
Good Luck and have a fabulous stay!
