DH and I just returned from a 4 night stay. We paid OOP so we had a mix of QS and a couple of TS meals. We tried to make sure we ordered meals that we had never had before. Here are our thoughts and opinions.
Sunshine Seasons (lunch) - DH had the Roasted Pork Bahn Mi sandwich and we both thought this was very good. We found the veggies made this sandwich very refreshing. I hope they keep this on the menu.
Coral Reef (dinner) - We both ordered the strip steak with red wine sauce, grilled potatoes, and mushrooms. The sauce gave the steak a great flavor and the potatoes were good as well. I didn't care for the mushrooms mixed in with the grilled potatoes but that is because I don't like mushrooms. DH ate all of his and the rest of mine. For dessert I had the creme brulee which was creamy and had a great flavor. My only complaint about this was that it could have been bruleed (not sure if that is a word) a little more. I liked that you could see the little specks of vanilla. DH ordered the Chocolate Wave which he said was good...I did not try it.
Wolfgang Puck Express (lunch) - DH ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf and I had a bite of it....YUM! Great flavor! I ordered the Roasted Turkey sandwich minus the arugula. This was great as well! For dessert I had the creme brulee and while it was good, it wasn't as good as the creme brulee at Coral Reef. DH had a cookie and he said it tasted like a cookie.
Pizza Planet (dinner) - DH ordered the meatball sub and it was just OK. Too much bread. I had a salad that I cannot find on any of the menus. It had olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and salami mixed with a vinaigrette. This was awesome and very large. I couldn't finish it all so DH ate my leftovers. We split a cappuccino cupcake. I thought it was good but DH thought it was a little sweet.
Be Our Guest (lunch) - DH had the steak sandwich with fries. This was really not good at all. No flavor and way too much bread. I had the Croque Monsieur sandwich with fries. It was good but I guess I expected more. It tasted like a ham sandwich...I couldn't really taste the gyurere cheese or the bechamel sauce. We split the strawberry cupcake and this was also just OK. All in all we found this meal to be a disappointment. I appreciate that they are providing options other than hamburgers and chicken nuggets but I found the flavors to be lacking. The restaurant itself was beautiful.
Boma (dinner) - We loved, loved, loved this meal. My favorites were the hummus selections, curry pasta salad, kokonut rice, couscous, and the debra domes. For me the star of the meal was the peanut soup...OMG this was heavenly! DH loved it all.
The Mara (lunch) - DH was ready for some "regular" food so he had the burger and fries. Couldn't have been bad because he ate it all. I had the chicken pita sandwich with couscous. I loved that it came with the same couscous that is served at Boma. I enjoyed this meal but wished the pita was served soft and not toasted. We split zebra domes and they were of course good.
Tomorrowland Noodle Terrace (dinner) - DH has the lobster roll and fries. He said it was OK. I had the chicken sandwich. This was just OK as well. I don't think we will eat here again.
Snacks - We tried several snacks on our stay but our absolute favorite was the Nutella Fruit Waffle at Sleepy Hallow. This is a must do!
