I just got back from my five day stay at OKW. The resort was great, as usual. I had a small problem with the drain in the tub, but it was fixed right away. I did have to wait until 4:00 to get my room, but I went to MK, ate at Tony's and watched the parade.
On Saturday I went to MGM Studios for the first day of SSW. I will never do that again in my life! There had to be 30,000 to 40,000 people in the park, all trying to see the soap stars. I got there early so I was able to see the kick-off and the first motorcade of stars. After that, I went to Milliionaire and saw the first two shows (OLTL and AMC stars playing). I really enjoyed them.
Because there were so many people in the park, I went to Hollywood and Vine early for my PS, ate lunch, and went back to the resort. A lot of other people were doing the same thing.
On Sunday, I went to MGM later in the day so I could see Susan Lucci in her motorcade and get a few pictures. There seemed to be less people than Saturday, but it was still quite a crowd.
A lady on the OKW bus said that she got to the park before 8:00 am to get a wristband for Susan Lucci (you needed a wristband from the Production Office to get her autograph). By the time she arrived, the wristbands were all gone! It seems that you really needed to arrive by about 6:00 am! I used to think I was a soap fan, but I have to take a backseat to those people. I wouldn't even stand in line for an hour to get an autograph.
Overall, the stay was very restful, and I am now prepared for winter. See ya next spring WDW!!
