Just back, Never Again!

Yesterday we met SIL and cousin at WL for breakfast at Whispering Canyon. Breakfast was great and we had a great time. Unfortunately, SIL (who drinks too much) imbibed 2 Bloody Marys and then the "games" began. They decided to go to Animal Kingdom for a couple of hours (DH and I had no intention from the beginning of going to the park since due to my back surgery, I can't ride anything and if we didn't go, SIL couldn't go either cause she had to get back to our house * Cousin would have driven her), but I figured that I could see Expedition Everest up close and have a few drinks at Dawa Bar and visit a friend who works there and DH, who works nights, was able to grab a short nap before we went to WL . OK, no problem!---yeah, RIGHT!!!! Didn't really get near enough to see EE up close (she didn't want to walk that far for nothing---NOTHING?????). Then we headed toward Harambe. We were able to get a table and see the African Acrobats. DH and I got drinks and SIL had one, as well. She and cousin decided they wanted to get a Turkey Leg and go shopping. Cool! We could go sit at the bar and visit with our friend. So we did. About 30 minutes later the cell phone rings (sometimes I HATE those things). It was SIL demanding to know WHY we hadn't caught up to her yet. DH told her I had to use the restroom (well I had, but not at the moment). We left and it took us about 9 minutes to catch up to her (can't walk fast due to previously mentioned surgery). When we did, she was fuming. It took us 20 minutes to meet her... we knew better, it had taken 9 minutes, because we had a call log on the phone (OK, maybe cell phones aren't so bad afterall) and we were RUDE! Excuse me!?! DH showed her the call log and the current time. We got the cold shoulder the whole way home! NEVER again!

We are going with my in-laws in June. I am really thinking that they will go off and do their own thing from time to time. Man, I sure hope so.

You should really talk to them ahead of time, so you know what to expect. That's how I was burned before. We went with my inlaws a few years ago (who had been to WDW many times). I actually assumed they wanted to go with us to experience Disney with their grandkids. NOPE...they wanted the opposite...to see us every once in a while, when convenient for them - and the rest of the trip they spent off by themselves.
