Just got back from a trip to disney and universal, had a great time at both places. Some highlights, Crush, Princess breakfast at Norway, Crystal Palace and Wishes. We stayed at POR and loved it. We did Soarin', I guess I am the only one who was hypoimpressed. We were in the second row and the feet in every screen really detracted from the ride. Anyhoo, lots of people, but manageable with planning. To top it all off, the pinacle of pixie dust, we saw the shuttle launch. Incredible. Thanks to all for all of the great advice. I will do a full trip report soon.
Have a magical day!

Which row of Soarin' would not have feet in the view? Can we request that row from a CM and just wait?

Welcome back! We're leaving on Thursday and are very excited.

I was wondering if you attended any of the evening EMH and how the crowds were?

I think the OP said they were in the second row, which would be the middle row of three. When we rode Soarin' in June, we sat in both the second and third rows...never got the first row (top row). Yes, there were feet that could be seen above you, but after about 2 minutes I never really noticed them. It just wasn't a huge issue for us. But, there was one nice young man, with a vest completely covered with Stitch pins, that we walked in the line with. When we got to the loading area, he asked if he could squeeze into the first row. So, we said goodby to him since he enjoyed that row the most.

The row where you would not see feet is the first row. As the op said, after a minute or to you don't really see the feet, unless you are concertrating on the feet. :thewave:

What is the restraint system like on Soarin'? Is there a height requirement? We have 3 children (11, 6 & 3) and I'm wondering if they would all be able to go, or if it would be impossible due to height restrictions. Thanks!

***I don't want to get into a situation where we get to the front & find out that only the 11 year old can go, so if I need to plan other activities for the younger two to do with the grandparents I'd like to know in advance. :)

I believe the ht restriction is 40 in. For the littler ones there is a strap between their legs. My kids really enjoyed the ride.

Glad you enjoyed your trip. The first time we rode Soarin we were in the first row and enjoyed it a lot. We were in awe. The second time we were in the third row I believe and did really find it very distracting. But from now on I just now to ask for the first row !! Regardless it is my favorite ride a WDW now :teeth:

In response to EMH, we did not do these days. I think the morning ones at MK can be very helpful, but repeatedly I have heard avoid nights at all costs. Truly hitting Mk at opening is the key. We toured an empty Fantasyland and toontown and fastpassed splash, space and BTMR all in the morning. It is not well known, but the fast passes can be used after the designated times, so we got a new one as soon as the time was available. By doing this, we had several that we could use and could use them in the evening. We saw poor people waiting in line after they arrived at the park at 11 am. By then, most of the fast passes were gone or the times were early evening. Those people probably went on about 3 rides in a day. Just my 2 cents anyway! :cool1:

To Giddy kipper: We enjoyed the breakfast. Food was very average, although the eggs and bacon were nice and fresh. The castle is very pretty, but not quite the grandeur of Cinderella's castle. We had Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Jasmine and Belle. This was a nice surprise as my girls were dressed as Cindy and Aurora. Things were a bit rushed especially Cindy. Mulan was great, very much in character. Overall, a great experience, but if given a choice, I would prefer CRT. As an aside, we went to the Crystal Palace and that place is wonderful. The food was spectacular, not at all the usual buffet fare. A great break on a hot day! :goodvibes
