Arrived at HHi resort at 1pm from conference in Orlando(stayed at Marriott-see review under let's check-in). We had our choice of 3 rooms and chose 2921 a 2bedroom almost at the end of the resort. You can see the boats and kayakers entering and leaving shelter cove from your porch. Room was in excellent condition and houskeeping had made mickey ears with towels on king bed in Master! We waited for my sister to arrive as she flew into Savannah from NH. She arrived around 2:30 and our brother and sister-in law who live in so. georgia. We had quick lunch from the take-out at the pool then the women drove to the beach house and walked the beach and hit the pool, while the men watched world cup soccer. We all went to dinner at Hudson's seafood(I saw it on Foodnetwork with Racheal Ray) and it was almost a 45 min wait when we arrived. We really only waited 25 and food was fresh fish and shrimp, but we had new waiter with a few errors..oh well its vacation! In-laws hit the road and we relaxed for the night.

Monday 6/26
adults went to HH Diner for breakfast while DS slept in. My sister and I hit the beach house and the pool was great with weather almost perfect. Low humidity and mostly sunny. Weather reports had said 70% chance of rain for the next two days, but we lucked out and hit 2 perfect summer beach days. DS and DH joined us at the pool for a swim and then headed back to resort for light snack/lunch and relaxation. dinner was at Delvecchio which dvc had discount, but we got restaurant.com coupon which worked out better. They have delicious garlic rolls/ salads, pasta, fish and huge pizzas. Great meal with take home pizza to boot.

Tuesday 6/27
Made huge bacon and eggs breakfast and sister and I hit the main pool. Read our beach books, swam and relaxed until DH and DS came by to swim later. Back to room for quick late lunch and then women went off to shelter cove. Tuesday is the outdoor activities with vendors, games for kids and late fireworks at shelter cove and disney has a BBQ which we opted out of. We had planned on dinner at Scott's Fish Market(right there), but they would not take reservations because of the expected crowds. We decided to go to Frankie Bones(in Hilton Head plantation, I think). It was really neat with Rat Pack Theme and Sinatra and other stars decor everywhere. Nice decor and great food-I had lobster mac and cheese! DH-steak, sister-Mahi-Mahi and DS seafood pasta. All were wonderful and dessert of cheesecake and keylime pie also great. Got out late and missed fireworks at shelter cove, but hit the mass exodus and we tried to get into resort around 9:15pm. Quiet night of laundry, TV and reading..great vacation. Wednesday was members day so on our way out at around 10am for the drive home to boston, I stopped by the desk to get our "gift". It was a lanyard with laminated DVC member card-cute. Drove to Baltimore that night then home to boston on thursday.

Really had great summer vacation there. we hadn't been in summer for 2 years and it was unbearable then -crazy heat and humidity in early July. The pool and the ocean were not even refreshing then..this time was wonderful. Didn't do any of the activites this time, which included making canvas beach bags, goody bingo, gyotaki, and many others. Just enjoyed the views and the ocean.
