My parents traveled with me this trip and we tried out a variety of places. I had been to most of them before, but they were all new to my folks. Here's the scoop:
Beaches & Cream - We ate here the day we arrived. We all had burgers, and they were fabulous! I think they have about the best hamburgers anywhere. In fact, we ate here a second time later in the week. Grade - A+
Teppanyaki - Had lunch here. This was my first time here. Our chef was very entertaining and the food was excellent. We all had the tori (chicken with veg., rice, and noodles). The service was a little slow, but not seriously so. Grade - A-
Earl of Sandwich - This was the other place I'd never tried before. I was anxious to try it because I'd read so many great reviews on this board. Well, I can see why. The food was outstanding! We had club sandwiches and a side salad. Love the bread!! I plan to go back on my next trip and try a different sandwich since they have so many great choices. Grade - A+
Ghirardelli's - We had hot fudge sundaes for dessert here. Yummy as always! We had a coupon to use, so were able to save a little $$. Grade - A
Flame Tree BBQ - Service was a little slower than when I've been there a few times before. We all decided to try the BBQ chicken salad and we all liked it a lot. The seating down by the river was peaceful and not crowded. Grade - A-
Tubbi's Buffeteria - Breakfast here one day just with my mom, since my dad wasn't feeling well that morning. I'd eaten lunch here before, but this was my first time trying breakfast. We tried the combination breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. Eggs and hash browns were nice and hot, bacon was lukewarm, and toast was stone cold. Wow, it was a lot of food. We could have easily split the breakfast and had plenty. Loved the 20% DVC discount. Grade - B+
Sci Fi Dine In - My parents LOVED this place. It really reminded them of their dates at drive-in movies. They really got a kick out of the atmosphere and the campy film clips. I have had some mediocre food here in the past, but I must say that the food this time was excellent. My parents split a reuben and a chocolate shake. I had a BBQ chicken sandwich and a chocolate shake. Grade - A
50s Prime Time - This was another favorite for my folks. A real trip into memory lane!
Our server was Mark, and he did a pretty good job of nagging us about elbows on the table, saying please and thank you, etc.
We all decided to try the grilled chicken sandwich. It was good, but not great. We also split an order of s'mores for dessert. Delicious!!
Grade - B+
Trail's End Buffeteria - Had lunch here one day. Nice variety of good food for a great price, including a 10% AP discount. Very enjoyable. Grade - A-
Columbia Harbour House - Had a nice lunch here. Upon my recommendation, my folks tried the Garden Galley Salad. It was delicious as always. Love the dark greens! We enjoyed the quieter seating upstairs. Grade - A
All in all, we really enjoyed the places we ate. Questions? Let me know.
