Just back from Wonder (we loved it!) and wanted to post about Hampton Inn. This is an excellent hotel - very clean, nice rooms (each with balcony), short walk to beach, good breakfast & great location next to Marriott. Didn't leave car there as hotel is not liable (although this can be arranged and a shuttle is provided for extra cost per person) for damages, so we parked at Port and it was great! No shuttle waits - just drove to cruise and parked!

As well, we drove by Radisson, and although it's closer (by only a few minutes), it looked run-down and very busy. We would recommend Hampton Inn without hesitation for those staying the night before.

As a side note, for those doing Disney first like we did, or driving from a short distance, we recommend going to Cocoa Beach the morning of cruise as we were sorely disappointed in the area (this has nothing to do with hotel, but with the area itself). Not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but we went a day early in the hopes of spending the day at beach, shopping, etc... and we were very sorry that we left Disney early only to see a million tatoo shops and drug stores!

P.S. Did drive by Shirley's shop "The Perfect Gift", and it looked lovely!

I can second that good review--we stayed there in summer 2002, after our Magic cruise. The rooms felt HUGE after our category 4 family cabins! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Glad to hear it's still nice!

If you're speaking of the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach, I'm sorry to disagree with both of you, but we found this hotel very disappointing. The staff was not very accommodating for us. We complained about the air conditioning in our room and it took hours for them to address the concern or to move us to another room.

We also asked for extra pillows and had to call back twice before we went to bed to get any.

We would NOT stay there again.

Yes we are speaking about Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach as my post indicates. I'm sorry to hear about your problems, but I guess you have different standards and expectations when staying at a hotel. I've stayed in tons of hotels, and I must say that not bringing extra pillows is not a huge deal and would not be the determining factor of whether I would stay or not. As my post stated, I consider location, cleanliness, rates, etc... when reviewing a hotel and this one was excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I just wanted to add that I too stayed at the Hampton Inn and we were greatly disappointed - We also would not stay there again and haven't - Don't really want to list the reasons why because I don't want to start a debate - If anyone would like to know, you can PM me -

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in November 2003 and were VERY pleased. Rooms were large, very clean, pool sparkling, quick walk to beach, nice breakfast. Very nice and friendly staff. No shuttle. We had an AVIS rental car that we dropped off on the way to the Port & took their shuttle. I would stay there before going to the Radisson. Rad is rundown, very busy place and staff seemed frantic, or just plain rude.

Sorry for those of you that had a bad experience at the Hampton Inn. Was it recently?

As the original OP I wasn't trying to start a debate - just trying to give a useful review since so many cruisers stay in Cocoa Beach. Of course everyone's experiences and expectations are different, so I'm sorry for those who had a bad stay at this or any other hotel. That being said, I feel it's important to only review hotel properties within a 3 month window as things change so drastically with hotels and since I just returned from a visit last weekend, I thought a recent review would be helpful (it defeats the purpose to me to read about people who stayed at a hotel 2 or 3 years ago - reviews should be timely so that people know exactly what to expect for their upcoming visit).
